There's a widespread myth in poorer black communities that the corporate world and media world are "white" when it's simply not true. Unless you have an extremely ridiculously stretched definition of white that includes all Asians, ***s, Indians, Arabs, South Americans, etc.

I think most of the time they just realize saying they hate everyone who isn't black would be poorly received so they say "white" instead even though they basically mean the entire outside world.

Yes ***s are one of the groups with disproportionately high income and media influence... but from a "racial identity" perspective there's been more hostility between ***s and (let's call them) "European-Americans" than between ***s and blacks. European-Americans started retreating from urban life half a century ago and aren't even high income by the standards of their own country anymore.

In regards to ***s in the media, black nationalists will often allege that the heavily ***ish media selectively covers peaceful protests by focusing on a few violent outcasts to make blacks look "savage".

Likewise white nationalists often allege that the reason rare white-on-black crimes are so heavily reported while far more common black-on-white crime is just brushed under the rug is because ***s are using blacks for revenge on whites.

In reality I think people like irony and destruction and market analysts who want maximum ratings decide what the news covers. A white person attacking a black person then black people burning stuff is going to get much higher ratings than reading off a list of miscellaneous ****s and murders. If they have to they will even magically turn someone "white" ala Zimmerman to ad juiciness.

Lastly, ***ish media money is increasingly heading south. There is tons of east Asian money backing everything now. They're even more indifferent to American racial justice so they too will just have marketing analysts find out what gets people the most riled up (highest ratings), which happens to be racial stereotyping.

Just my take. I don't believe there is a group "controlling" everything -- just unaffiliated businessmen who know race trolling maximizes ratings.

...And I think Hopkins knows that too.

Bernard is exactly right Philadelphia erect a statue for a fictional character Rocky but ignored one of Phillies greatest Smokin Joe Frazier for years. Thanks to continued pressure & Boxing like Bernard Hopkins contributions , that matter is being resolved.
Bernard really is one of boxings success stories. A bad boy that found a mentor Bouie Fisher, turned his life around & is now recognized as one of the ATG's in the sport

Bernard had to fight the system all his career was never given a break. He was robbed in the two Taylor fights & the Calzaghe debacle no way he really lost either. Its time he was given the recognition he deserves

As far as the Rocky statue it was created as a MOVIE PROP 33 yrs ago for Christ sake. What does that have to do with anything? Rocky is also an internationally recognized icon in film. An international symbol of courage. A tourist attraction for tourists who idolize what the character stands for. These same people internationally have no clue who Hopkins even is. It's got nothing to do with the city of Philadelphia. Why is this guy such a moron?

as I read through this thread...I think the ones who have negative sh't to say about Hop's comments misunderstood what he was saying...he NEVER said the fans were racist....he's talking about the suit and tie cats with POWER

Hop is a old head....if you know Philly's history of racial conflicts then you would over stand what Hop is getting at....he came up during 70's and 80's when sh't was crazy....google Frank Rizzo if that's not enough google MOVE...I can go on and on...the dudes from Philly in here with knowledge of our city's history know what Hop is getting at...those who don't are just outsiders trying to dispute the claims of a man with INSIDE info...ya'll sound ******ed...for real!!

Hop is a product of his environment...if you're wounded really bad...the wound will heal with time but there may be a scar that remains...so me personally, I know why Hop says what he says....to most, the sh't he says be sounding foreign and that's why he's labeled racist by people who don't or can't relate to what type of sh't he's seen and went through in Philly
