Why is Cotto-Canelo being billed as the next "Super fight"? Canelo ain't elite.

Well it has to do with both being huge stars, and both have exciting styles. PR vs Mex, and their stardom is almost up there with floyd and Pac, and since its following the failed super fight, it is being labeled as a real super fight because it will be guaranteed action, and one of the best matches that can be made at the moment.

I didn't post that, did I? I posted that the cotto/canelo fight wasn't on the level of 3 much bigger fights that I also said were not super fights.

The definition of a super fight, GTFO. This fight pales in comparison to much bigger fights that also missed the mark of a super fight. It's not more than a big fight.

If you're not calling it a super-fight because it doesn't have the feel to two "legends" going at it you're right. Canelo isn't a legend and in that sense I can see your point to an extent.

But simply because it doesn't meet every criteria for a super-fight doesn't mean it isn't one. It's not going to generate May/Pac hype, but nothing ever will at least not another 10-20 years. Call it what you'd like, big/super/huge who really cares? It's going to get over a million buys and be as big as any event May/Pac had done before they faced each other.

It's a mega fight, not a super fight here in the states. However, it's a super fight for Latinos. Wouldn't surprise me if over 50 million people watch the fight.

This will be a big fight because of the Mex/PR rivalry plus Mexicans really want to know if Canelo is the next Big Deal. He he blasts out Cotto he will zoom to super star in Mexico.

Cotto/Canelo is a super fight.

May/Pac was super hype that's all it really comes down to and I all I care about.

I see it passing up 1 million because Cotto/Marg I and II got 500 and 600k... Cotto is a bigger star now than when he was for the rematch and Canelo is FAR more the draw than Marg ever was.
