LOL, nobody is talking about him being a mandatory to the WBO. He said he wants to unify the Middleweight titles which includes the WBO title. And he was chasing Martinez and Cotto before he was even the mandatory so what are you talking about?

For some reason, if Andy Lee had that belt instead of the WBO, I don't think he would be on it so hard.

He's gone hard after every belt for years now. He didn't say Cotto's name until he won that belt. Of course GGG wants the payday, but the belts are his ultimate goal.

Listen numb nutz, GGG was chasing Martinez and Cotto before he was the mandatory what does that do for your favorite fighter bias argument? Both the IBF and WBO allow fighters to unify titles, they dont allow them to hold titles in different divisions, divisions as in weights. He chased Martinez when Martinez was champ. He started chasing Cotto when Cotto became champ. He chases every beltholder.

That is a good mindset to have. Whether I believe it or not is another issue but his team is saying the right things.

Holding all of the belts has benefited Wlad tremendously. On the other hand, not having all of the belts has destroyed Rigo's career.

People say belts are meaningless but they are bargaining chips to land fights and stay active. If GGG can somehow become undisputed champion, nobody in the division can claim to be even a title holder without going through him.

The only real question is what is GGG going to do while he can't get what he wants? SO far, he has been content to take stay busy fights with easy opponents. That is the best business decision for him and HBO.

Many of us would rather he use this time to seek out challenges either at a higher weight or have his team work to get fights with non HBO affiliated fighters.
