are we as boxing fans living in our own bubbles where we are slow to accept change? maybe people won't buy a ggg ppv? you could say the same about cotto because cotto only fights on ppv when he has a name opponent. so if cotto knows that you need a big name opponent to have a ppv why don't the fans?
also some people proclaim amir khan is one of boxing biggest stars but look at his last fight. 770k viewers, 7k attendance, 1 million purse. am i missing something? should i follow the numbers or what fans say? is cotto a mega star while ggg is a nobody? is khan a huge star that just doesn't attract any fans/money?

And no one is saying promoters are having orgies of celebration after every Cotto fight, but there have been more orgies of celebration after Cotto fights than GGG fights like it or not.
GGG has potential no question about it, but he ain't there yet & he NEEDS Cotto to get there Cotto don't need GGG & that says everything. Quit trying to bs & fake like that **** ain't true. Its wishful thinking at best.

Golovkin at 33 -- still in his first class
Cotto keeps -- moving up in class and beating guys bigger than him
Golovkin keeps -- running away from Ward and guys who would represent challenges
Cotto's MW accomplishments -- in two fights greater, than GGGs MW resume
Golovkin's MW accomplishments -- hinges on beating a washed up former Jr. WW

Cotto's career in a nutshell -- HoF bound - FACT
GGG's career in a nutshell -- still chasing WW and Jr. MW - trash talk
Daniel Geale -- a tune up for Cotto - true
Daniel Geale -- GGG's greatest pro accomplishment - FALSE (Martin Murray)
Cotto at 34 -- fourth weight class - FACT
Golovkin at 33 -- still in his first class - FACT (but so what?)
Cotto keeps -- moving up in class and beating guys bigger than him - FACT
Golovkin keeps -- running away from Ward and guys who would represent challenges - trash talk
Cotto's MW accomplishments -- in two fights greater, than GGGs MW resume - if Martinez was at full strength you would be correct
Golovkin's MW accomplishments -- hinges on beating a washed up former Jr. WW - trash talk
Cotto will always be -- greater than GGG - perhaps but conjecture
Golovkin will always be -- a flash in the pan - 12 fights of taking out ranked TOP 20 is not a flash in the pan (not saying it's greatness like GGG fans make it out to be)
Cotto/GGG will look like -- Garcia/Matthyse - your opinion. For all you know it may be a great fight with GGG winning.
-GGG IS looking for fights against Floyd, Canelo and Cotto, all smaller fighters but is not looking up.
-Geale was a higher ranked fighter than Murray until he lost to GGG. Also he is a former unified MW champion. Clearly GGG's best win.
-GGG IS still in his first weight class
-His path to the lineal title IS through a former JWW
The only opinion based argument in his post was Garcia/Matthysse comment.

So by your logic since Justin Bieber sells more CDs than Miles Davis that makes him better?

as to your other point, his "path" to the lineal title is through the guy that currently holds it, regardless of that fighters origin.
Because if the decade-ago weight of an opponent is so relevant, than the major footnote to Cottos legacy is that he got his face bashed in by a former FLYWEIGHT.Last edited by OnePunch; 06-08-2015, 09:35 AM.
