So go ffing hell along with all the other little dweebs in here who live in a bubble. GGG wants to fight Cotto on PPV so that he can become a star and no ther reason.
GGG wants that belt not necessarily the cotto fight.

hes been vocal for a long time. he wants to unify then move up

    stop being so damn emotional

Well for the agreement to have any weight, there must be consequences involved in refusing to fight GGG. Breach of contract must carry penalties with it. Perhaps the refusal of WBC to sanction any future fight involving the winner along with financial penalties equal to, say half of their purse in the fight. If money is all these people respect, hit them where it hurts. In their wallet and in their ability to earn more money.

You are right about the situation being a farce, however. Cotto should step up and be a man. Fight his mandatory or vacate the title.

He would loose credibility for refusing to fight his mandatory and look like a coward in the eyes of the boxing community and boxing fans. All of which could be avoided by simply signing a guarantee that the winner fights GGG next.

But for some reason, that is too much to ask. Go figure.
Canelo/Cotto is the biggest fight in boxing right now and that has nothing to do with the WBC title. They can fight at 152.75 for the WBC Super Diamond Junior Middleweight title and it will be a huge fight.

Cotto vacating is not a good thing. All that will happen is Golovkin will fight Heiland or Johnson for the vacant title and hold 2 belts in a division with no big names. Then that completely frees the Cotto/ Canelo winner from ever having to fight him.

He still can't be lineal champ because he would have to beat the #2 who is Quillin. And that fight isn't happening.

he already is a star you just live in the past. ggg drew more fans in his last fight than cotto did for this fight. ggg almost always does great ratings on hbo, the only thing cotto has over ggg is a couple somewhat successful ppvs as the a-side but only because he had a name opponent. fi you give ggg a name opponent he would do just as well but people like you don't want that to happen for some reason. you would rather have a guy who is scared be on ppv then a guy who isn't. very strange.

Cotto needs to throw the belt in the trash and watch GGG starve to death rematching Monroe. Let's face it... Canelo is at 155lbs for a reason.

Nope. He wants the $$$ Cotto brings.

Canelo will eventually fight GGG, the timetable for that to happen has nothing to do with Cotto. Cotto will be retired before then. Besides, by his own admission, Cotto is not a middleweight.

Golovkin may well be directly promoted to title holder due to his holding the interim title. As for the lineal title, it is basically worthless and meaningless in today's world of multiple titles. Quillin will not be at number 2 much longer. He did not make weight in his last fight and may well move up to SMW soon.

It's a very simple agreement to come to, all GGG wants is a signed agreement that the winner of Cotto-Canelo will fight Golovkin NEXT. No voluntary in between, no rematch in between, no fight at another weight class in between. Whoever wins fights Golovkin NEXT.

Why is Cotto so against giving that guarantee? He claims in interviews that he would 'possibly' fight GGG after Canelo, so why not make it official? What is stopping him? Why do his fans try to invent excuses for him not to give that guarantee? Cotto is not Floyd. He knows how to read and how to sign his name. There is nothing preventing him from signing an agreement that obligates him to actually live up to the obligation he is avoiding by fighting Canelo in the first place.

There isn't a set of balls among the entire bunch of them!
                  Great post

Everyone wants Cotto Canelo and then the winner to face GGG. That's what the boxing world wants that's where the big money is, if it doesn't happen..

                  ITS A CLEAR DUCK!

Rubio was a mandatory to Martinez belt for what seemed like ages and no one on here wanted Martinez to give him the fight, but now we hate Cotto for being a diva and even hate him because they think he is gay, and now avoiding mandatories is sacrilegious. GTFOH boxing is about blood, guts and glory and $$$$$$$$$. Fighting Geale was to test the water was low risk high reward and nothing more I'm not naive I don't look at it as a great accomplishment. Fighting GGG and beating him in a FOTY candidate this late in Cotto's career now that would be great. But I cant blame Cotto wanting to take that risk last after Canelo.
