So whilst, Froch's resume is good cos he fought everyone - his peak win is an older version of Kessler in a rematch.
Calzaghe also moved up and won the LHW title against Hopkins.

Originally posted by Scary View PostI would say he has surpassed Calzaghe too. He retired too early, missed the opportunity to do his "Bute" against Pavlik, but again got outhustled by Hopkins in that department.
And his best win was probably Hopkins, and that win was extremely razerthin and should've probably been a draw, I don't mind him winning though.
Froch's attitude alone in facing who he has faced has been unblemished, constantly wanting the biggest and baddest fights out there for him. Especially that Groves fight 2, he gave this pretty much unknown fighter, who he had just had one of the worst nights I've seen a fighter of Froch's caliber have, a shot to get back on him. I recall the 6th round in Froch Groves I. How Froch got back in with him, after escaping with a victory is beyond me, but a testament to just how tough and real Carl Froch is.
So lets break it down:
Good Wins:
Kessler,
Groves,
Bute,
Pascal,
Abraham,
Dirrell,
Taylor,
Johnson
Reid,
(McGee)
That's a lot of names!
Losses:
Kessler,
Ward.
Names missed:
... hmm... DeGale?! Calzaghe?! GG?! Stevenson?! Kovalev... Nah none of those ... Froch faced everyone he could in his division
So let's put on Calzaghe's list:
Good wins:
Hopkins,
Kessler,
Lacy,
SHOT TO **** Roy,
Bika,
Reid,
(Brewer, Woodhall, Ashira)
And ofcourse no losses.
Who did he miss?
His nemesis would've been Pavlik, the whole world craved that fight. Instead he chose Jones (He always dreamed of beating his idol)
Johnson, he pulled out 2 times. I think one of them was because he was scared of flying (which later was not a problem.(This story could be Frank Warren spin))
Carl Froch, he did not feel that Froch was ever worthy of meeting him, while he was active. Might have been something to that, but what a win that would've been in this discussion particularly.
Chad Dawson, could've been his biggest win. Instead Ward handled him, even got him down to SMW, which proves that he would've done the same against Joe.
I would actually like to say Hopkins rematch too, because the world craved that one. It felt like unfinished business. Instead he chose Roy.
So all in all, it's not cut in stone, but I would say that nowadays Froch has done more. It felt like Calzaghe retired just a fight or two too early. There was unfaced competition. On Carls end of things, the whole division has been cleaned out, he'll need to go to the new generation of up-comers or hopefully get someone particularly from the MW division - Could be boxings next big fight imo.

Best wins Idk man he fought enough people you can actually pick your own.
Taylor, bute, groves 1 or 2 Kessler. Other good wins Abraham, Johnson, dirrel.
Zags was talented had fast hands great work rate etc but never really tested himself.
Also you saying well zags beat Kessler and Froch took two fights to do it plus Kessler was older. That's like saying Bradley's greater then manny because he beat Marquez. So whilst pacquiao's resume is good he struggled against Marquez and lost finally while it only took Bradley 1 time to get it right. Cause styles don't make fights right?
Also what's so great about Kessler if you don't mind me asking? He's lost all of his big fights except the close one with Froch. So......
