Not ok with these matchups, I don't run with the whole "as long as they fight someone good next" mentality, by that logic fights like Salka are ok. These matchups further degrade the integrity of boxing, I am not saying they should be fighting killers every time but they should always be fighting moderately competitive opposition. But I suppose if that happens then Herrera like upsets are possible.
thurman-collazo, garcia-malignaggi, wilder-molina...

It is sad to see so many top fighters, regardless of network affiliation, keep fighting these kinds of fights. The result is pretty much a given. I don't expect much drama or intrigue.
How are these types of fights exciting to any serious fan? Doesn't anyone want to see their favorite boxer test themselves?
Is an inevitable outcome really what the sport is about?Comment

The matchmaking for PBC fighters has been really back and forth. They'll have one great fight, then rebound way too far the other way with an indefensible fight. There's no consistency. Especially when Haymon's fighters lose or nearly lose. Then he digs at the bottom of the barrel. He needs to match them up with a consistent level of competition.
It's a real shame what has happened with Garcia since he beat Matthysse. The guy was on the verge of stardom. I hope the Malignaggi fight doesn't happen. And Thurman, Thurman I don't understand. Guerrero was supposed to be his way in. Collazo is a HUGE step back.Comment

No matter who wins between Broner and Porter, it's very likely both end up in horrible mismatches afterwards. It sucks. The winner of that fight should springboard to another big fight. And I hope that's what happens, but history suggests otherwise.Comment

Whatever I think of Haymon, he's doing a good thing with PBC and has put on some great fights. It just sucks that for every Quillin/Lee or DeGale/Dirrell, we get a Thurman/Collazo. It gives people something to latch onto and hate rather than appreciate the good fights, and it's not necessary. Thurman and Garcia are beyond these kinds of mismatches.Comment

Completely agree. Theres an art to matchmaking and haymon/PBC are not doing a great job at the moment. The matchmaking for PBC fighters has been really back and forth. Like they put on fights like ron salsa for Garcia, and then put cash cow former MW JCC in with solid LHW conteder Fonfara? CrazyComment
