Good first defense. A beatable old timer, which wouldn't look bad on a resume. I mean that's how first defenses are normally. Not saying Degale won't beat a prime Kessler.

I really want Chunky to get it on with Sturm. May be after this. Good fight and stylistically I believe Degale does a job on him.

If it does, Degale wins. All wrong for him at this point.
At any point. Kessler always was just a straight ahead textbook boxer who couldn't deal with unorthodox styles.

        First defense things.

Odd angles? Not really. You are overrestimating Degale too much.

Kessler laid out plenty and also had Carl Froch staggered in both their fights and broke his nose.

If Kessler was anywhere near his prime Degale would not see the 6th round.

            Maybe.

But more so now Vs an old inactive Kessler.

            Degale's quite basic himself.

Degale seems pretty tough and seems to have a good chin.

              I doubt Kessler stops him.

That's just not true. Kessler was a switch hitter himself - much better than Degale. In his prime he was one of the best ambidextrous fighters in the world. His technique literally takes a steaming dump on Degale's.

Well who has he fought that tested his chin?

I think Kessler would stop him. Degale doesn't have a great defense and Kessler's one-two was deadly.

When did this occur? Because when he stepped up to top level and fought guys who weren't straight ahead brawlers or bums, he got found out and looked like a stiff upright idiot who couldn't adapt.
