As I said in another thread, you can't blame Brook for pursuing this. It'll be a 'big' name on his resume, and, given Rios' style, he'll look good in the process.

    win:win.

Haymon is showcasing him to make him into a big name. And Hearn is doing the same with Brook. They've already discussed the fight and it will be need to be big if it's to happen.

Brook will take the flak because he's not American and has a promoter that actually talks. Thurman flaps his gums a lot but we all know he does what Uncle Al says.
I disagree with the Guerrero fight being a showcase. Thurman was arguably still moving from prospect/contender to world level and Guerrero was a decent test and measure of just where he stands.

Hearn is putting Brook in there with the Gavin, Dans, Rios, etc because he knows it low risk and will still sell out arenas. Then make quick, easy work and turn around in a few weeks and fight another guy with no chance. If he wants to build Brook's name in America, he should have done a better job getting the fight Gavin televised in America especially with Joshua on the card.

Thurman's fighting Collazo because no one else willing is available and staying busy. It appears they were trying to make the Porter fight but Porter wisely chose broner instead even with the catchweight stipulation.

i dont get why people dont like this fight. rios was fighting with major injuries for 2 years including the pac fight theres a reason he looked the way he did in his last fight. obviously brook is around a 4 to 1 favorite maybe more but i actually like this fight.

gee that is funny because there is a lot more money in a 3 fight series then one big fight. if one loses before either is champ or one is think of the rematch when maybe both champs but then that would require a lot of training pain and dedication whereas fighting bums don't require that. they are frauds

I've heard Thurman call out Khan and Brook. Brook calls out Khan but is strangely quiet when it comes to Thurman. He doesn't have to fight Thurman, but stop fighting the walking dead zombies. And hopefully Thurman's next fight is against a name, or the same will be said for him.

All this talent around WW and none of them are fighting each other. Say what you want about TR but they always had their talent fight each other.

I don't have a problem with fighters trying to maximize their income. This is their job, its how they eat.

My problem is the network might approve this fight, thus allowing a fighter to make more by fighting an opponent that does not deserve the fight than if he took on one that did.
