Hmm well why did fans pay for him more than any other fighteR? maybe because he is TBE in their eyes since they didn't pay that for other fighters?
And everyone know Pacquiao fans are the worse.
Hey tremendous hype name another boxer that got as much media attention as Floyd with the Canelo and Pacquio fights ? This is the age of social media I mean in this day age rappers like Drake are selling millions ,is he the best ever ? His fights were supported mostly by casuals ,and as far as Pacquio fans yeah they were just as unbearable ..But at least with Manny he dared to be great ,Floyd sold the boxing public mostly lemons !
Been a Mayweather fan since he debuted. Respect the fighter not the man. The guys boxing ability is the best i've seen for quite some time but I'm not required to like who he is outside of the ring. I guarantee you if social media was around in boxing's hey day, there'd be a lot more hated fighter. Ali, SRR, Jack johnson, all were womanizers, hell Ali even had his side piece with him for the biggest fight of his career while his wife was at home with the kids! Who cares, I pay to see boxing, not men with vices, I can get that at home.
Like nothing about him outside the ring, can care less....but I enjoy how he has mastered the unnoticed things, like foot work/foot placement, angles, timing and damn near impossible to hit....just him in ring...I enjoy it, just as much as wars like gatti/ward
His is a black man at the top of his sport, through hard work and dedication, talent and skills. He is what his haters would call an exciting fighter for at least half of his career.
He was a dominant fighter at lower weight with huge wins.
He crushed Corrales
He blasted Gatti
He had numerous knockouts.
All that got him was avoided by big names like Oscar and others who labeled him ***8220;high risk low reward***8221;
So he took what was a hall of fame career and changed direction by ******** on himself. He did what many black men in America don***8217;t get the chance to do and that is take control of his own career.
He decided to take all his blood, sweat, and pain and make the money off of it. He also did it in a sport where success and failure is based solely on your own skills and dedication.
He didn***8217;t bow to Arum, or the system.
He would not be told how to act to get money. He got it HIS way, and he got it more that any boxer ever.
Yes he had the domestic violence issue. That was ****ed up. But no worse than dozens of other loved boxers throughout history. So that makes one ask WHY do people hate him so much?
And the answer that a lot will never admit to is that they hate a successful black man who will not bow to the powers that be, but not only that makes those powers that be bow to his will.
He is the biggest name in the sport of boxing and the best of his generation and he controls every aspect of his career. And he did not have to do this by ***8220;stepping an fetching***8221; to some other man***8217;s tune.
He did all this by being a genius at his craft and dedicated to the sport of boxing. He did it by beating every man that was in the ring with him at the sport of BOXING.
I still don't get how being a fan of Floyd is a bad thing? Am I suppose to feel guilty for digging a guy I have followed since his Olympic career, that I thought was one of the best before most people could pick his ass out of a line-up.
Even if someone is new to the sport because of Floyd why is that a bad thing exactly?
