Thats not really true. A lot of fight fans don't pay for the fights, I don't. I also happen to really appreciate innovative foods, but it does not mean I can afford, or will pay for dinner at the French Laundry in Sonoma County if you catch my drift. floyd is an ATG and I will stream a fight if I can, I will watch his fights on Utube when they are available. The truth is that people should take a long hard look at supporting ANY sports live now-a-days. its not just Floyd! Tried to take a family of four to the ballpark lately?

The stuff he is able to do in the ring is admirable. Why can't people appreciate that? If what it did was so easy, everyone would do it and never lose.

And for the record, I don't care for him. Inside or outside the ring.

I never actively cheer for Floyd in a fight and always root for "the common man" as you put it, but things you said there are part of the reason I love him. It's as if God specifically created him to be a boxer. Also add into the fact that he has a god given talents, but superhuman dedication to training it's hard not to kinda like him. He's above being a once in a generation athlete, he transcends generations.

First, I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI, so I'm a little biased.

Don't like Mayweather the man outside of the ring. Luckily I don't ever have to meet or deal with him.

Inside the ring? Mayweather is a genius, he's adapted his style over the years as he's gone up into higher weight classes, but he's always had excellent defense, quickness, and reflexes. But what separates Floyd from other boxers is his intelligence in the ring. He's got more boxing smarts than all but 1 or 2 fighters in history. When he fights he is putting on an absolute clinic in the ring every time out, he's executing the sweet science flawlessly.

He's really went from being an action fighter to more of a technician over the years, but who can blame him? Although no terribly exciting (Not boring at all though), his domination of Pacquiao was a work of art and a lesson in boxing, he took everything away that Pacquiao was trying to do. Pacquiao literally stood there looking perplexed half the fight.

Floyd will be more appreciated as time goes by, he's going to go down as top 5 All-time for sure in the decades to come, he might even be looked at by many as #1 all time when we've had the prism of time to look at his accomplishments through.

Man you holier than thou "fans" make me sick. Do you watch the NFL? Do you order HBO and watch their fights? Do you pay for Pac fights? Do you watch movies with stars who have been to jail and/or accused of copious amounts of awful crimes?

Floyd has his flaws outside of the ring and inside of it. However, I can appreciate this once in a generation talent. One that I believe I'll never see another of.

I don't understand why there's this idea that it's wrong to be a fan of Mayweather.

It's like people seem to look down on Mayweather fans as beneath them.

                  So ridiculous.

The real irony is in who is doing it and from where.
