Imo Monroe just didn't have the power to trouble him, so Golovkin was happy walking through them to land his own punches.

Tired of hearing Roach tbh, talk Cotto-Golovkin when your fighter has signed the contract otherwise it's just hot air like the build-up to Pacquiao fights.

Hanz, how have you not learned how to embed videos by now?
I think he underestimated Monroe's inside game

it's not letting someone hit you.

it's called tasting someone's power and concentrating more on offense than defense.

      quite common in boxing.

especially when you got a guy down/hurt.

you try to get him out of there.

golovkin beat monroe up and got the ko. good job.

whether he got hit at times is irrelevant.

when you feel someone cant hurt you and you can hurt them....

the risk/reward of being more offensive, less defensive is in your favor.

What's hilarious is he was out of breath, and he took his break right in front of Monroe.

I don't think GGG let Monroe hi him on purpose. I also don't think he was exposed. He got hit too often but the punches didn't really affect him so it didn't really matter.

Does Roach have a fighter with Monroe's skill set that can land as cleanly?

Roach really shouldn't say things like this. The coach who never ever could teach his fighters how to defend properly... If one of the Roach fighters had a good defence that was because they learnt it before Roach. Roach is very good when it comes to offensive studies but he can't do nothing about fighters' defence.
Pac's defence is still better than Golovkin's though but mainly because he is much more mobile not because Roach.

That's right! He didn't let Monroe hit him but he wasn't bothered about being hit so he let himself get lazy. Would he fight like that vs Alvarez, Cotto and Ward?! No way in hell. We haven't even seen 80% of GGG yet and that's a fact. He's such such a brilliant boxer across the board.
