Roach: golovkin exposed, didn't get hit on purpose

funny how Danny Geale is being made out to be some sort of taxi driving tomato can. Dude is (or was) a world-class middleweight. Went to Germany, beat Sylvester and Felix Sturm. against an undersized Cotto, the scrappin aussie is a live dog.Comment

he's a good contender but why is cotto defending his title against him instead of the mandatory challenger, a guy who already beat geale and would provide a bigger fight for cotto?Comment
-
It depends on how healthy Geale is after losing the extra 3 pounds.
If the fight was at 160 I would favour him to win over cotto.Comment

Cotto's career comes to an end if he were ever to fight Golovkin. The night terror's from Margarito that still wake Miguel in the middle of the night have increased with frequency and magnitude ever since Golovkin became his mandatory.
I think if Roach had the chance, he'd trade Abel Sanchez every fighter in his gym for GGG.Comment

as a new champ he is allowed to have a voluntary defense. Think about it. Cotto had choices but he took Geale on as opposed to a lesser boxer. Whether or not HBO forced his hand in regards to choosing a credible opponent, give him credit.
Geale was 159lb a month before the fight. I'm not worried about him making weight, IIRC he was around that weight vs GGG and Fletcher.Comment

Roach is correct. You could see GGG was trying hard to hold onto his sense of being this flawless fighter.. He was spinning for his own sake and not so much to convince the public.
"I meant to do that..." ~GGG
"I am BIG predator..." ~GGG
People who speak like this, are always trying to convince themselves more than anything else. There is mental weakness in GGG. The first fighter to force it to the surface can beat GGG.Comment
