Then why didnt Geale stay at jmw so he can be the bigger guy?

He outgrew jmw and has been fighting at 160 for a decade.

It seems you dont understand why people ask for cws these days, its to drain their opponents.

Lets say you cut down as much weight as you can to make a weight division and then someone asks you to cut another 3 lbs on top, it can take a toll on the body and they come into the fight with no legs and feel weak.

3 lbs may not seem like much when you have 30% body fat but when you have under 10% body fat it becomes difficult.

Im not saying Geale will be weight drained but its a possibility that he will be, will have to wait and see.

      It's called scared.

Why would he fight the guy Golovkin just destroyed in 3 rounds, especially when Golovkin brings in more money than Geale?

Regardless of Cotto's intentions, damn near every boxer takes a voluntary defense after winning a championship, unless they hold other belts and have to satisfy mandatory obligations that they can't pay to temporarily go away.

Honestly, I doubt Cotto fights GGG. Especially since I believe Canelo beats Cotto should they fight.

voluntary defences are supposed to be exceptional cases reserved for big fights, like an alvarez fight - fights that transcend mere rankings. a champion expending his voluntary on a tune-up/routine defence is just stalling for time. if the wbc had any integrity cotto would have to fight golovkin next or drop his title

            Cotto should really:
            A: fight Golovkin after this
B: If he doesn't want to because he has nothing to do in MW (and imo he hasn't) he should vacate it.

With that being said I know that if somehow Cotto would KO Geale in round 1, 2 or 3, then GGG stans would say that it was "because GGG ruined Geale".

Exposed? I wouldn't use that word to be honest. I think it's true that GGG got hit because he got hit, not that he wanted to.

Saying that, I think we can say it's because of him loving his power, having a good chin. So maybe when we see him fight someone who has power, we will see a different dimension to him.

I don't think that's so far fetched. He has the amateur pedigree, and has the ability to do it.

I hear you, but it is what it is. I guess it depends on the influence of a given boxer. In the case of Cotto, the dude has put his time in for this sport we love and had a great deal of success. I'm not happy about his voluntary against Geale, but I'm not opposed either. Geale is a very respectable middleweight who just so happened to get KTFO by the best MW in the world.

If Geale beats Cotto though...LMAO ROFL

Scared is the reason ggg says he's not ready for Ward.

Ward isn't the one holding the lineal and WBC middleweight title and taking his voluntary against a guy his mandatory just smashed
