Comments Thread For: Donaire Looks To Quigg, No Interest in Ruiz Clash

Five division world champion Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire has apparently decided to shun a WBC title eliminator against No.1 ranked Hugo Ruiz and instead plans to face Frenchman Anthony Settoul in a ten round super bantamweight bout in Macao on July 18 before hopefully getting a crack at WBA champion Scott Quigg of Britain should Quigg overcome Kiko Martinez also on July 18 in Manchester.

Im not a fan of Donaire, but you are not making any sense, and just hating on that dude. how the hell is he like Santa Cruz when he actually fought Rigondeaux and fought top guys? He also went up to fight one of the big stronger featherweights in Nicolas Walters.

Please tell me you are joking right?

        That'll be interesting.

Donaire vs Frampton would've been fun

The Filipino Flash ducks nobody, win or lose, big or small.

Seems they would've picked up a belt against Ruiz (if LSC is moving up) whereas here they only have the fact that a Quigg fight looks like it can be made. If Frampton-Quigg ends up getting signed instead it won't look like such a smart move. Plus couldn't they have done it as a unification if he'd beaten Ruiz instead of this French guy? Maybe it's just that they lost the purse bid.

I would have watched the Ruiz fight; not even going to bother for this one.

do us a favor and call it like it is...quigg is not the WBA champion..he's the small boy second belt holder under a guy that he wont fight even if forced..
respect to donaire for doing so already, but the rest of that division ruined great fights by ducking
