Yeah, it's very hard to say how Ward will look when he comes back, but he's certainly wasted many of his most peak years and it was incredibly poor business sense by him. He could have made a ****load of money in two fights each year, but he's now lost a lot of money in court and wasted those years without fighting. ****** career move and it could turn out even worse if it's ruined his physical prime. We'll see.

Ward would only fight Degale in the US but good thing Degale actually wanted to fight Dirrell in his home country for the extra ****e, he probably be just as pumped up doing the same thing with Ward. Oakland has a megafight in the making here perhaps followed by a day of mourning?

... Ward would be probably ready to fight DeGale in 2016 -- in case he makes 168 again and takes a solid tune up in the division...

i like the fight. degale is tough, hits hard and also has a bit of ring craft about him. he can land punches from inside and outside range. i'd favour ward to establish his jab and land the cleaner punches, but degale could potentially make him uncomfortable

I don't think he's saying he's ducking him, just that Ward isn't going to want to fight someone like him right now.

Stylistically, DeGale isn't a good fight for a rusty Ward.
Fair points but I don't see Degale coming close to beating Ward.

If Groves win against Badou then Degale-Groves is a MASSIVE UK "unification" fight. By the time that comes off Ward will have had a least one more fight and a likely scenerio is that, irrespective of who holds those other titles, Ward will want to fight them.

If it's Degale let's see if he signs.

I doubt Ward refuses you unless you start talking about VADA testing or some ****. The DeGale hype is like seeing the color blue and everyone else swears it's green.

It's unlikely Andre "Work Muth****er" Dirrell gets the rematch, Froch would be cool tho...just don't hold that belt hostage.

That wipeout by Froch put too big a dent in George's credibility as a top fighter for even the UK public to buy his chances against Andre imo. But if DeGale can beat Groves this time and crush him in the process, Ward vs Chunky would do big numbers, big enough to attract Ward to London for a stadium gig. Everybody gets well paid and Ward successfully defends the real title. Why? Whatever his knockers say, Ward is a special ringman and too damn good for anybody at 168.
                good post !

                love to see that

Ward/Degale would be a great unification fight, either in Oakland or in the UK.

I would prefer the UK, but not sure if Ward would agree with that.

                    Ward would beat Degale easily.

DeGale would be a good tune up for Ward before he fights GGG or Kovalev.

DeGale-Groves rematch is the more competitive, more money making matchup. And I bet they would draw 80,001 drunks to Wembley.
