yea I agree. hes still somewhat vulnerable to a good long jab/straight right tho. I think hes more equipped than wilder to push through adveristy tho and dig it deep into a fight. wilder just seems more vulnerable to caving in than povetkin imo. wilder doesnt have povetkins tree trunk legs to hold him up deep in a tough fight
Alexander Povetkin vs. Deontay Wilder

I know. His legs look like arms. Whenever I see that, I'm 99% they have bad chins and will most likely do a funny dance when catching one that shakes them up.yea I agree. hes still somewhat vulnerable to a good long jab/straight right tho. We've seen Wilder take some good punches vs Stiverne - fair enough. but he should have never been buckled by that guy he fought.
Povetkin lasted the full 12 with Wlad despite being leaned on the entire fight on top of catching some hard shots and going down a couple of times.
Most importantly, he didn't complain at all. That really made me a fan of Povetkin.Comment

I always thought that they moved Wilder along way too quickly as a pro. He has so little amateur experience, and for some reason they thought it would be good enough to throw him in with 25 bums and then move him along quickly.
Deontay's got all the physical advantages as well as the momentum behind him, and I like him to win, but you cant discount Povetkin's deep deep experience. Wilder better try to get him out of there early.Comment

what glass jaw? Over 30 fights yet hasnt been knocked out once.Comment

Why is everyone acting like povetkin is some super skilled fighter. Hes actually very basic , and when he stepped up to the plate to fight wlad got completely owned. Not that hes a bad fighter or anything but hes not the best after wladComment

Going for Wilder but I ain't confident in this one as I was Floyd vs Pac.
Look guys, povetkin looked great in his last fight against Perez. Then again Perez hasn't been this great hw at all. His previous fight was against a hot dog vendor at the oc fairgrounds here in California. Wilder isnt the best, but he surely isn't as bad as Perez. He brings different dynamics to the table. Height, reach, power, athleticism.. Things I think can give him an edge.
poventkin has the edge in experience and that's what has me worried about this fight.Comment

Er... hang on mate, 30 fights against who and what? Let's melt his entire record to only ONE decent opponent shall we, and that opponent was extremely sick, lacking all of his usual strength. There are also occasions Wilder has been knocked down by shocking specimens. And then there's the little head and the chicken legs.
He's a glass jaw mate!! Make absolutely no mistake!!
He has proven himself the best after Wlad, pretty certainly I reckon!
He survived Wlad in a brutal struggle, that's pretty good.
Very basic? He is a "well rounded" talent, he is not great at any one thing.. But he is good at ALL things! He can punch, he can counterpunch, he can box and he can brawl, he is patient and he can swarm. He is the epitome of the universal boxing style. Backed up by some savage power and a cast iron chin and heart.
You shamefully underestimate our comrade over there!!Comment

I would go with Povetkin, he has a pretty good resume if you look at it actually. Wilder is still not really tested. The Stiverne fight was good, though.Comment

lol, the guy won a bronze medalI always thought that they moved Wilder along way too quickly as a pro. He has so little amateur experience, and for some reason they thought it would be good enough to throw him in with 25 bums and then move him along quickly.

yeah he didn't have many am fights especially compared to a povetkin but he still had the experience of fighting at a high level.
