It's actually far more likely Povetkin would be robbed in the USA.

I've read rumors that sometimes Wilder loads his gloves. He wouldn't get away with that in Russia.
Fres Oquendo didn't get the best decision in Russia. i remember it as being close. Not sure i'd called it a 'robbery' though.

But with the difference in amount of high profile fights in America vs Russia of course we are more prone to hear/know about bad decisions in America.

I don't see why Povetkin shouldn't come to the US. Wilder is the champion? However, he could probably reject any offer from Haymon and just go to pursebids and win that way around.

But I honestly don't think Povetkin is too fussed whether it is in America or Russia. I'm sure he'd like to fight in America too.

That was in Grozny, Chechnya, not Moscow. It wasn't a robbery, Oquendo always cries robbery - it was a very boring, close fight. I thought Chagaev edged it.

If you want to put up America as a whole, then surely Russia should be too.

I agree it was a close boring fight. But some people thought Oquendo won - which is also I guess the reason why a rematch has been talked about/taking place?

Not the same. Chechyna is a completely different republic withing a federation, with a different religion and language.

If in Russia, it will surely be in Moscow anyway.

It wasn't a robbery, yet because it was a close fight, there will be a rematch.

When fighters from other countries are robbed in the USA there's not usually a rematch (Meehan-Brewster, Golota-Byrd, Provodnikov-Bradley, Matthysse-Alexander) because non-American promoters have less influence with the sanctioning orgs.

You don't like Povetkin and you'll be rooting against him no matter where it is, right?

Wilder wins by late KO or by decision. I actually think a decision victory is most likely. But Povetkin is good, he is certainly more dangerous than Stiverne. Difficult to predict this match, I'm 60/40 on Wilder winning. Too big, too fast, too strong.

Plenty of foreign fighters get rematches in the states. Ruddock/Tyson, Lewis/Holyfield, Mayweather/Maidana, Pacquiao/Bradley.

I tried to reason with you.

I like Povetkin, I like Wilder too. I don't have a dog in this fight. Based on Klitschko - Povetkin and Wilder vs Stiverne I thought Wilder might have been too big for him. Upon seeing Wilder's last fight and Povetkin's recent fights, I'd have to lean towards Povetkin.

For people who think Povetkin will win, how do you think he'll get past Wilders 8" inch reach advantage and height advantage? (6'7 to 6'2)

The same way he got past Wlad's over 100 times which forced Wlad to jump on his back everytime he did.

It's unbelievable that that fight discussed as a pro on Povetkin's side. It was an ugly hugfest, yes but Povetkin still couldn't do anytihng with Wlad and lost by a wide margin. The first time when Wlad came out from the turtling he dropped Povetkin...

Headmovement and hooks on the inside. Pretty much a Povetkin special-
