Lara, as an opponent..... would be streaks ahead of Thurman/Khan/Algieri.

No welter deserves to fight Mayweather.

Khan had an opportunity to earn that fight by beating Brook, but instead he chose to fight Algieri.

Even Thurman and Brook only have 1 defining win at 147.

Fcuk them all I say, they all had their chance to get relevant.

Lara is the most worthy..... the #2 JMW, who will fight anyone.

I think a potential GGG/Mayweather fight at 154 is not far short of a joke.....
..... but I would likely even prefer that fight to Mayweather facing mid-tier welters who are clearly not ready.

I agree. I wouldnt be surprised if it's Danny Garcia or someone else not expected.

won't be Lara...can't sell, too risky. not likely to be Thurman...has a date in July. looks like it'll be Khan to me, since he's going to beat Algieri 12-0. i really don't care though; none of these fights are enticing. Floyd has accomplished everything. only fights he could take that would interest me at all would be Cotto for the lineal middleweight title, GGG for a crazy brave risk, or Pacquiao rematch just for further legacy points. Everything else is truly pointless outside of just trying to get to 50-0.

Danny Garcia or thurman are the 2 most likely opponents

I would prefer cotto 2 at 160 for mw belt, or khan... Those are gunna be exciting fights, whereas I think floyd can shut down garcia and thurman like he did canelo, manny

Cotto or Thurman possible but I'm very confident it will be Khan. However, it will be yet another public image disaster for Floyd when he outboxes Khan to a UD because Khan "was slowed down from Ramadan fasting". If I was Floyd I'd give Pac the rematch, take home 75% of the purse, and end any lingering doubt the greatest boxer of this generation. Hell, maybe Floyd should use puncher gloves for his final battle.
a rematch??? manny ain't fighting this year

Probably Khan, but slight chance at Garcia. I think Floyd wants to fight a younger fighter who is going to go onto have a good career the next decade. He's already beaten Canelo who is likely to be the best light middle of the next decade, Garcia could be one of the top at 140 or 147 for the next decade. Khan I don't think has as great of a chance to dominate a division going forward.

Lara had the fight in his hands and he blew it. They literally gift wrapped it for him and he didn't take it.

He wants to get by doing as little as possible and that just won't cut it.
