Max kellerman said the record was broken by guys like Chaves who went something like 80 something and 0

He said it doesn't matter if he lost after that, that record should still stand

What was srr record before he lost his first fight? Or was it his second fight that came in his 130 something fight?

the whole point is being undefeated... and staying that way. Using your logic every pro out there who is 1-0 has broken the record.

Marcianos record is the record for the Heavyweight champions, not all of boxing.

wasn't Roberto duran in the 70 win range before his first defeat and sugar ray robinson also an insane amount of wins before the first loss ? floyds record dosent cut it for me sorry he lost at least twice and got gift decisions.

Its funny to me how Marciano's record is misunderstood today! First off its a "Heavyweight Record" not an all divisions mark. Sugar Ray Robinson went 45-0 then 80-0 twice and theres others with more than 49 victories!!

                It's a HEAVYWEIGHT Thing!!!!

Larry is the only one with any sense in this thread.

Marciano holds the record for most wins by a champion who retired undefeated without any losses, draws, or no contests/decisions.

Lopez was 24-0 in title fights and he was always the lineal champion, Marciano had a lame 7 title fights, 2 of which were against guys he already beat. Lopez is one of the greatest fighters of all time, he's on my top 5 P4P list no matter what, Marciano's record doesn't mean a damn thing to me, and if you know anything about boxing, you'll have the same opinion.

Marciano is not on my list for the top 10 heavyweights, he's probably the best white american fighter ever and the best heavyweight of the early 50s but that's about it. Even Mike Tyson's record before he fought Douglas (he was only 23-24) was better than Marciano's, he won 10 Championship fights by the age of 23, which is phenomenal in itself.
