Look up, and you can see my answer.

No need to go back into the black and white days, bro.

I'm not arguing with you at all homie..you are right...just saying 49-0 with no draws is the highest in boxing history to retire

They mean a fighter at heavy weight being undefeated and the fact that he is white makes this a big deal. It doesn't apply to the lower weight so it don't matter if someone at the lower weights breaks it, it's not the same.

I'm surprised that long time boxing writers and fans don't correct the talking heads about this whenever they bring up Floyd breaking Marciano's mark.
Chavez was 89 and 0 before his first loss so lets see floydie break that or try Armstrongs record of going from 126 to 160 with no b1tch azz catch weights

How many decent fighters did Chavez beat in those 89 wins? Maybe 25? Floyd is greater than Chavez. If he wanted to break his record he could fight twice a month for the next 2 years against cab drivers and do it.

and if he would've retired (a champion) at that point he would hold the record but he continued to fight and eventually lost ... Next...

Wait so that's what they're referring to? If true I think it's a silly one. Not to diminish Mayweather's career accomplishments at all, but I don't see the point of a record for most wins amongst fighters who retired undefeated only, as opposed to all fighters.

what do you mean you don't see the point in it? lol That's the most ridiculous... well not the most considering this is NSB .. but wtf man!!! That's like saying what's the point to Joe Dimmagio's hit streak if he doesn't have the most hits all time... the point is no one had been able to break that record in 50 some odd years (same with Marciano) and some say it will never be broken (Dimmagio record).

Mayweather actually has a shot at breaking A record thats been around for about 50 years in the sport... if you don't see the point in it I'm sure everyone else will survive

It's a selling point for Floyd's last fight for 50-0
