Pacquiao Clean Punches Against Mayweather

Pacquaio suffered from aesthetic presumptions and some of the work he did in there was underrated/under appreciated.
He did what Floyd always does, which is land some good one-punch counters BUT that is not expected of him. What is expected of him is flurry and to bum-rush opponents and throw a lot of punches. That or a clean KO a la Ricky hatton.
Most of that stuff went unnoticed. If he didn't flurry, he didn't get the round even if it was a close round and both guys landed some of the same punches as these gifts show.
I still had Floyd up 7-5, but to say that Pac got schooled is pure hyperbole. NO, Floyd didn't get pummeled as some were predicting. That's all there was to it.Comment

Edit. You are changing your story
Also u are wrong. At the point of initial contact Floyd's punch was low. It would not have hit where it did unless it gets deflected as it did.Last edited by ADP02; 05-28-2015, 09:42 AM.Comment

^ This. Mayweather schooled pacquiao by ducking below the belt and almost touch the canvass with his gloves, clinching when pacquiao's coming, uses his elbow and pushing down pacquiao's head to make a distance. That's pure boxing doe. Hell, pacquiao made the fight entertaining when countering mayweather, but he's getting outbalanced and uncomfortable when mayweather's clinching and elbowing(distance) him. Mayweather did nothing significant on that night that defines boxing. All i see was hugging and running, elbowing.Comment

I think in the center of the ring Floyd easily controlled Manny with his jab and left hook. Pacquiao's jab was near nonexistent, he rarely landed it and only threw it as a range finder. This was probably not a "schooling" but it was a clear victory for Floyd. 10 rounds to 2 is not an outrageous score.Comment

nobody was schooled as some claim. it was a close tactical match, not a 10-2 type of score.Comment

I disagree with your sentiment. The only close rounds that could have gone either way were rounds 9 and 10. I thought 4 and 6 were Pacquiao rounds and the rest were Mayweather rounds. Even in the rounds where Pacquiao did flurry his punches were often missing or blocked. His work while Floyd was against the ropes was messy and he sometimes ate counter punches while coming in, which probably explained why he was so tentative.
