Well this one would be the sure cure for insomnia.

If Fraud can be in boring fights offensive opponents, I can just imagine what a "fight"(and I use that word VERY loosely) would look like with someone that was even more boring than he is.

The only entertaining Mayweather/Whitaker match would be Pernell vs Roger in a crack smoking contest. Now that would be entertainment.

I've got Floyd winning a decision, quite handily. Sweet Pea lock for HOF but from what I've witnessed with my own eyes Floyd is greater in most departments. I think Floyds ring IQ may be the best in history he just knows how to win a round according to the judges criteria. I'm not talking about these boxers that try to steal the last 30 seconds it's deeper than that. I see Floyd outboxing him moving or in the pocket.

Pretty close overall in both defense and offense. Floyd has more consistent pop in his shots. Whitaker could do more damage with single left hands, do to timing or loading up on it or whatever. He unified the LW titles on a single left hand in the 1st round against Nazario, basically ended the Lomeli fight with one left hand, rocked Chavez briefly in the 8th round of their fight, and turned the Hurtado fight around with one left hand, and then almost killed him with the follow up lefts while Mercante Jr. stood there and watched. I guess Mercante Jr. can be really active when it comes to helping fighters "suck it up" and deliberately ignoring the requests of the chief second, but just stands there when guys almost get killed with punches.

Whitaker had the superior jab as his right jab was simply brilliant, although Floyd's jab is excellent too, as he has the best jab to the body I have ever seen. Floyd's left hook is better than Whitaker's right hook IMO. Floyd's straight right is better overall in effectiveness than Whitaker's straight left. Whitaker has the edge in workrate and combinations. They are both excellent body-punchers. I give Whitaker the slight edge due to him letting his hands go more and how frequently he contorted his body to get the angles on body punches. There is one instance early in the 8th round against Hatton that I've seen probably 1,000 times because it's so great to watch, when Floyd pivots his body to get the angles on these bodyshots against Hatton (during the part when Manny Steward says Ricky is bringing out the best out of Floyd). He then again uses the jab to the body to set up a right to Ricky's head.

Whitaker did this quite often. He got these weird angles due to his body movements and how he got low. Unorthodox but not necessarily technically unsound either, it would give him angles for offense and also for defense.

Anyway, on offense they are pretty close as they both have areas in which they were better at. Whitaker had an edge on defense. I doubt anyone would get hurt since they were defensive masters and the chances of Whitaker landing a shot on Floyd like he did against Nazario or Lomeli is very slim.

I think Whitaker's pesky jab and superior workrate would be the difference in a close decision. 7-5

If I had a gun to my head I would pick Whitaker. Simply because I think he would be able to stay in the pocket and make Mayweather miss. The question in this one is, who would be the aggressor? If Whitaker is the aggressor I can see Mayweather winning on counter punches. If Mayweather is the aggressor, then Whitaker can stand his ground and outwork him.
That's an interesting way to think of it. If people had a gun to their heads and their life depended on it I'm thinking 99% of people say "Mayweather". The thought process would be different in this case. I think the logic part of the brain would force someone to say Floyd because he's never lost before.

Mayweather's mental strength would be a big factor in this fight, Floyd is the best at keeping his composure while we saw Whitaker himself get frustrated before for example against Dela Hoya, Floyd is a much faster, better defensive fighter than Dela Hoya with one of the best weapons against southpaws which is the the straight right hand to the body and to the head, something Dela Hoya never really had, Whitaker can get off to a fast start and win the early round but he's gonna get broken down cuz the head can movr but the body can't move and we've seen what Floyd did against Judah, he was missing with head shots so he went exclusively to the body and that broke Judah down, by the 5th Mayweather will have figured him out, at 147 i'd put my money on Floyd easily.

Everyone says as fight goes on floyd adjusts and begins to take fight over as it goes on. This is a falicy. It just appears that way. Re watch any Floyd fight. What always happens is opponents tire and Floyd Floyd doesn't. Floyd is doing that exact same thing in round 12 as he was in rounds 1-11. Everyone else falls off at various rounds. When they loose steam Floyd takes over. The only adjustment that happens is Floyd opponents dropping punch count cause they can't keep pace.

Floyd is a supburb fighter but his greatest asset is his conditioning. That my friend cannot be refuted. Screw what everyone here of his trainers say. There is a reason why Floyd does insane cardio training. It's to keep his 0.

lol, this guy is rediculous. Floyd adjusts all the time and its pretty clear. Even specific examples. The punch Shane landed twice in the 2nd, he tried it again later because it worked and it was blocked because floyd was ready for it. He adjusts his offense for each specific fighter as well, using looping right hands around the high guard, uppercuts for guys susceptible for them ect.
