Mayweather: "Before I go into any championship fight I always think about Pernell Whitaker, the reason I think about Pernell Whitaker is because he was a small guy like myself and he was able to move up weight classes and beat bigger guys"

    Secs later,

    Ellerbe: Naturally

    Mayweather: Naturally!

    I'm sorry but

I know that might be blasphemous for some lol but Mayweather is a truly great fighter regardless of the fact that he has so many people hating him. I think he is slightly sharper than Pernell defensively.
Yeah surprisingly, Whitaker could be sloppy with his defense. Against Nelson, he ate some right hand bombs and I think there might have even been a knockdown that wasn't called IMO. But Mayweather is susceptible to the jab at times and boy Pea's was sweet. Really, really tough call although I lean toward Floyd.

Would be a good technical fight but Prime vs Prime Floyd takes a close win. Maybe a draw.

Whitaker wins in the defense department but Floyd beats him in the counter department.

X- factor goes to Floyd. Floyd adapts, he figures you out.

Whitaker would have been the mother of all puzzles but Floyd is the father of problem solving.

        Floyd wins.

I'd take Whitaker in the lower weights but 140 and above I'd go with Floyd. It's an intriguing match to consider.

An even trickier fight to think over is Whitaker vs Rigondeaux. Imagine that!

I beg to differ regarding your floyd comments. Floyd makes zero adjustments and figures nothing out. Everyone says as fight goes on floyd adjusts and begins to take fight over as it goes on. This is a falicy. It just appears that way. Re watch any Floyd fight. What always happens is opponents tire and Floyd Floyd doesn't. Floyd is doing that exact same thing in round 12 as he was in rounds 1-11. Everyone else falls off at various rounds. When they loose steam Floyd takes over. The only adjustment that happens is Floyd opponents dropping punch count cause they can't keep pace.

Floyd is a supburb fighter but his greatest asset is his conditioning. That my friend cannot be refuted. Screw what everyone here of his trainers say. There is a reason why Floyd does insane cardio training. It's to keep his 0.

If floyd is allowed to continue his peds use and gaming the system, then FLoyd wins. Normal Floyd gets his ass handed to him by Pernel.
Funny that floyds head hasn't grown 4 hat sizes in the last 8 years.
