Ahhh, man, people are really not thinking here. I see a lot of confidence in GGG stopping Froch, which is ridiculous to say the least. Froch's resume is so much better, so much tougher, so much more difficult than Golovkin's, that Golovkin is as far away from it as we as Humans are from traveling outside of our Solar Systems in manned missions. GGG's resume compared to Froch's is like those games that have Easy, Medium, Hard, Professional modes, and GGG's is Easy difficulty while Froch has been going though Professional mode since 2008. For Froch to pick out a fighter that is of similar level of what Golovkin has been fighting, he'd have to look at Yusaf Mack. Mack is pretty much a GGG level opponent. Hell, George Groves, *who Froch knocked out in front of 80,000 fans at Wembley Stadium by the way*, is better than anyone GGG has fought to date.
Froch would outbox, fight, outjab GGG to a UD. Put it in Nottingham as Froch's farewell fight and watch GGG and his overly confident fangirls be as surprised as when Froch was underdog to get KO'ed against Bute and instead won every round and destroyed him in 5. It would be a shocker to most of you, but what do you expect from a guy coming up in weight who fought in a weak division his whole career, coming up to fight some one like Carl Froch. Fans bring up Froch's age, like they seem to forget that the guy has been old for quite a while now.
Froch is intelligent, tall, has the longest reach in his division, he's very tough and stubborn...
In case they fight, they fight at the Wembley for a huge payday.
Golovkin is after some big money, I don't think he's so interested in preserving his "zero" at any cost...
I'd love to see it too. I'd love to see Golovkin "deliberately" allow Froch to punch him in the skull and see what happens.
But the point is that Froch doesn't need to work another day in his life. Unlike Golovkin, Froch's amassed a fortune and has arguably the best resume in recent history.
He doesn't owe Golovkin or some dorks on the internet like you another fight unless its worth his while. HBO PPV. Not hard to understand.
Shook? LOL...of what? I've seen Froch win big fights and lose big fights. It's been an amazing journey. A loss to the supposed biggest monster in boxing at 38 years old won't hurt his legacy.
Whereas you have only got to watch Golovkin beat up journeymen that no one cares about and have an absolutely nothing career at 33 years old
Imagine if he was to lose to a 38 year old war torn Froch in his first step up. You probably would need years of grief counselling and plenty of rectal cream.
I that couldy pond water has clouded your judgment.
Since been completely dominated by Andre Ward, he has fought Bute, Yusef Mach, Kesler coming out of retirement, Groves, Groves.
The Groves things I am sure is impressive for you brits as its your own super fight on the island, but completely irrelevant in terms of the actual landscape of the division.
Now he suddenly has the best resume in recent history?
We all still know Andre Ward is the best in the division, and would school Froch in a rematch again, as would Andre Dirrell most likely.
I respect Froch, he has massive balls, and puts them where his mouth is, but he is not skilled, he is a tough guy in a division that is fairly weak at the moment, and has managed to out tought all of the guys without the pedigree of Ward, Golovkin, Dirrell, etc...
Kudos to him for making it entertaining, but thats all it really was.
Ok , I see ; If I had to give it a guess I'd say its HIGHLY probable that it will go the distance as u never know how well a guy will carry his distinction in power while moving up weight . I got GGG winning a decision , and I like the odds that it goes 12
It's possible it goes the distance but I just don't see it. Golovkin never stops coming forward so something has got to give.
You only have to look at Froch's record. You're a Brit too so you should already know. My only question is to whether Hearn is talking shit because it wouldn't be the first time.
it's not the best preperation though. Taking a stiff right hand from Froch would send him to the canvas if he has his hands down like that. But GGG is so accurate, active and his punch variety is superb. It's a tremendous fight.
But in a war, I'd pick Froch - the more tried and tested warrior. GGG could hurt him with the body shots, but I see Froch establishing the stinging long jab early and could frustrate him.
I'd pick the Cobra, but wouldn't be surprised if GGG pulled it off.
If Froch wins though, he'll have a firm place on the 1st ballot as soon as he retires.
I'd pick Froch but he tends to leave his chin out and I'm not sure he'll get away with that against Golovkin. If he can take Golovkin's power, then it's a different story.
On HOF, I'd say Froch is in already. I believe they have to put 3 people in every year and the standards for entry aren't really what they're made out to be (not that I think Froch doesn't deserve it anyway).
5. would take a smaller cut than most of his stature
The split is an interesting one, Groves took home around $3m while Froch got $14m. Golovkin just earned $1.5m to fight Monroe, you have to wonder from his (purely financial) perspective whether moving up is worth it.
Doubtful a Golovkin fight would even sell out Wembley, let alone in 5 minutes.
No one knows who he is
Froch and Hearn know how to hype this fight... It will sell out quickly.
(So, Brits don't know Murray? The guy who beat Martinez and was KOd by Golovkin? Froch is going to avenge Murray big time, right?...)
