Comments Thread For: Mayweather-Pacquiao and The Media

There were entire articles on deadspin, espn and every other major news outlet about floyd and his domestic issues, the idea that the media ignored it is a huge lie. the most hilarious part about it is that they largely ignored it for guerrero, canelo and maidana 1 and 2 but for this fight, they pulled out all the stops. I even read one article where one journalist advocated for streaming the fight illegally, not to mention keith olberman calling for a boycott, it was nuts. this article is pure nonsense.Comment

Lmao i love deadpsin, but even AFTER the fight, there was an article about floyd mayweather being a coward. It was one of the worst "articles" i had ever seen written and another reason why i hate when non boxing writers try to give their take on the sport. mayweather dominates in a great performance neutrualizing the number 2 p4p fighter in the sport, and hes a coward.
reading this article was just sickening.Comment

This is a boxing site so what or why post an article like this? Mr. Hauser recently posted an article called The Big Lie which glossed over the fact that someone in Pacaquios camp lied on an acknowledgment form. There was no "outright" indictment of the camp for the "perceived" negligence but there were tepid excuses (the preflight doctors should have asked more questions about the medications he was taking) as to why the injury wasn't disclosed or to cast the blame on someone else. The bias is clear in Mr. Hauser's article . . . Yes Mr. Mayweather isn't a very good person for his past crimes BUT did that have anything to do w/ the recent record setting ppv event? What is Boxingscene's purpose of posting such a negative article of one of the biggest stars of the sport it is promoting? If I want to read or see a bias socially conscious article about anything I will watch the fox network.
We get it, Mayweather is not a great guy outside of the ring but the lies and excuses being thrown around about him don't change the fact that he is a great fighter. Now that he beat the peoples champion some people refuse to accept it to the point of embarrassing themselves and denying it ever happened, its quite sad but I don't think anybody is really taking it seriously.
If people stopped replying to the obvious troll comments it might die off a bit but those are the comments that get the replies so the trolls will never stop. Why not ignore the trolls and leave them talking to themselves instead of giving them the attention they want?Comment

What is it that people want from the public in regards to Floyd and his domestic violence issues and past?
Some say he should've been suspended by the commission. Ok then what?
I've seen written in an article that he shouldn't have been allowed to make the amount of money he making off the fight vs Manny.
So now a people want a cap on the amount of money a person with a criminal past can make?
WTF let it go. Everybody will not always view an issue with the same urgency as the next person does.
Funny Olberman on his espn show called for a boycott of the fight because of Floyd domestic violence past but doesn't call for a boycott of the nfl stuff that espn bombards all their channels and websites with.
I can't stand selective outrage!!!! That is all this basically is from these people.Comment
