True boxing fans will enjoy all style of boxing. Whether it's a chess match or all out war. I believe that every fighter goes out their with different game plan each time they fight a different opponent. They evaluate the opponents strength and weaknesses and take away or capitalize on it. Here's an analogy....I love watching MLB players hit home runs just as much as pitchers throwing no hitters....Comment

This is a case of misplaced anger. You are a boxing fan that would surely agree with the statement styles make fights, right? Well how can that happen if one guy doesn't employ the opposite style?
There have always been boxers like Floyd and rigo. Guys that faced them didn't quit punching. They knew how to cut off the ring and get to a boxer with movement.
There is a reason Chavez Sr. was so vocal and critical of Manny-because he was a man that kept fighting Taylor and Sweet Pea rather than just decide to lose without taking much damage. Donaire got beat up because he didn't take the easy way out that Canelo and Manny did.
Why would you celebrate fighters that betrayed the essence of the sport when matched against a highly skilled opponent? DOn't you want to see them raise their level and earn a win?
Rigo-Agbeko being a perfect example of what Lampley was saying - Rigo is vastly superior with an opponent there ready to get his rear handed to him. Instead of actually trying to get him out, he cruised.
I ALWAYS thought Floyd would beat Manny, and was excited when he came out on the 5th and 7th aggressively, but then he coasted. That's what's frustrating. And yes, Manny's performance was also weak.
Chavez Sr-Taylor wasn't quite the same, Chavez was at least catching Taylor. And Taylor was peppering Chavez too.Comment

Lamp need to change his light bulb...no matter how much these new breed fans b!tch and complain the science will remain the science!!...the HBO dudes are in full 48ers mode...saying and doing any and everything to discredit the boxing lesson/clinic Floyd gave to their man on May 2nd!!...**** **** that up your ass Lamp...never liked your corny ass anyway!!...trying to brainwash these young dudes like that!!.. Rigo and Floyd are undefeated and Wlad hasn't lost in about a decade or so...all 3 are kingpins in their weight classes so **** **** that in your mouth and don't forget to swallow...hoe ass dude!!Comment

How would the ratings of an NFL team do if the qb threw it away every time the play broke down, wrs slid to the ground every play before getting hit and rbs ran out of bounds rather than Try and truck a defender. Every single play. Can you imagine?
Would fans say they smart doe? Why take a hit no point. No one wants to see that shiet and players that do get called sissies weekly. Boxing is no different. We want to be entertained. With high caliber violenceComment

It's not misplaced anger at all, it's a bit of agreeing with Lampley in this instance and mocking the users who are praising skills.

Should Tiger Woods boogey holes on purpose so the field catches up to make the last holes more dramatic and more exciting? Should an NBA team stop scoring to give a team a chance to make the game closer and therefore more exciting?Comment

Rigo shut out a former world champion who got hit in the mouth and decided it was all good.
All I've heard for years was how hard it is to land shots on or hurt a guy (i.e. Mayweather) who is 'commited to running'. So what more was Rigo supposed to do?Comment

I think its always on the guy losing the fight to do what is necessary to win rather than for the guy ahead to fight in way that gives the guy losing a chance to catch up. DO we ever ask this in any other sport?

Respectfully, you would never advocate this in any other sport or any walk of life for that matter. Should Bill Gates stop selling computers since he is the richest man in the world? Should Brazil wait to win another world cup until the US wins 5 as well?
This fight has made some of you post some really sad and pathetic stuff.
I know you want to see Floyd lose, but at what point do any of you ask Manny/Canelo and the other opponents to get better rather than ask Floyd to get worse just so you can see that happen?Comment
