So Alvarez has requested catch weights in 3 non-title fights and that is bad for boxing (no matter if it is just a pound or even less). But I haven't seen any of the zealous fans in this thread (opposing catch weights) discrediting or criticizing equally other fighters such as Floyd, Pacquiao or miguel cotto. Some posters here are hypocrites since those 3 have requested catch weights on title fights. Take for example cotto who has requested so far catch weights for 3 fights and all of them were fights involving a title: defending against Margarito 2, challenging Sergio Martinez and the upcoming defense fight with Geale (which is going to be whole 3 pounds below the weight limit). Some posters here should stop with their double standard and hypocrisy.

Pac was crucified for years of course, and he won titles in 6 divisions before asking for one.

Don't forget Canelos first title was @150 vs welter non contender Matt Hatton. Iirc Canelo didn't even come close, he was like 152?

Cotto and Roach aren't going to want to let this guy fight above 155 anyway. if the fight is anywhere above 157 I'd be shocked. If Canelo beats Cotto (I think he will) then he needs to move up.in weight. Unlike Cotto he has been a decent sized JMW for years now.
