And all this talk about Lara running, have you seen Willie Monroe fight before?
I don't care about seeing GGG fight Cotto. I would rather Cotto vacate his title than watch that massacre. He has Lemieux and Lee to look forward to, probably Saunders and Eubank Jr. down the road as well. No need to look at lower weight divisions for fighters who cannot fight on HBO in the first place. Why not have Lara fight Andrade instead? Or wait for Floyd to vacate his title and challenge for them? Lara is a twitter fool, no more, no less.

he can't get the fights he wants-Cotto or Canelo-right now. He will not go up to 168 for the ward fight. SO instead of him bashing no hopers, some of us want to see him in with someone who presents a different challenge to see what he can do.

Lara fits this description. So while I would pick GGG, I think they should fight to confirm this. I mean I could be wrong, like the people that swore Manny was going to destroy Floyd.
Ward is not ready for a GGG fight, as he has stated himself. If Lara is serious, he should get his promoter to contact GGG's promoter to discuss the possibility of a fight, not post useless challenges on twitter like a twelve year old. Chavez Jr. posted bets and challenges on twitter and where did those lead? These children have to understand that boxing is SERIOUS, because they will definitely find out exactly how SERIOUS it can get once they find themselves in the ring facing Golovkin. If they have doubts about that, they should talk to Stevens and ask him about being SERIOUS.

You might be right. GGG is tremendously skilled so I would expect him to be able to do the things necessary to beat Lara.

But, Lara may find ways to neutralize what GGG does through movement and then find a way to box to a victory.

I am interested to see how he does this Saturday against Monroe. That should give an indication as to how a Lara fight would go. Monroe is a middleweight so I would expect him to take GGG's power better than Lara would and if Golovkin drops him early, I would take that to be about the point where a Lara fight would come to an end.

This was similar to the argument fans made about Algieri's chances against Manny. He as well lacked quality opposition.

Lara has far more amateur experience and has more fights against quality professionals that offsets the weight somewhat.
I understand Lara has better experience, but he's not a middleweight and he's fragile at 154 as it is. Experience isn't going to help Lara much if he gets KO'd within 5 rounds. That's why I say Monroe may be a better fight for Golovkin, since he's an actual middleweight and may be able to last rounds against Golovkin.

What does that have to do anything? You don't have to be an underdog in order to prove you're fighting a credible opponent. GGG will be the favorite over any fighter from 154-160 and most fighters at 168. Only exception is Ward.

That's why so many want him to fight Ward at 168-to see what he will do ina fight against an opponent that actually has a chance to beat him.
Yeah it will be a good fight, both have stated they want to fight each other in the future so I certainly see it happening within a 1-2 years after Ward has a couple tune ups and hopefully after GGG unifies 160.

Please be SERIOUS. Calling someone out on Twitter is meaningless. If Lara really wanted to fight GGG he would get his promoter working on it but he cannot do that without getting Haymon's permission first and that just isn't going to happen. Haymon will not let any of his fighters fight anywhere but on a PBC broadcast and you will not find GGG over there anytime soon.

I don't know why people think that's Lara on twitter, you guys really think he speaks and writes perfect English? It's his manager, DeCubas jr.

Want a Lara - GGG fight? OK... get Haymon to sign off on it first, then have Lara take a fight or two at middleweight to prove he deserves the shot and have the fight in a small ring where Lara cannot run all night. Chances of any of that happening? ZERO.
I don't think that Lara would need any tune ups in order to fight Golovkin.
... But he is a Haymon fighter, therefore Lara can only call out PBC fighters, to date... No need to further speculate.
