Not unless he leaves Oscar because Oscar doesn't want Canelo anywhere near GGG for another couple of years or so. I wonder what would happen if GGG did step aside and allow Cotto to defend against Canelo, Canelo wins and vacates the title instead of fighting GGG. What would his Mexican fans think of him? Cotto would get a pass because no one expects him to ever fight Golovkin, but if Canelo did the same thing? It would be a disaster!

Lara did serious damage to his brand and reputation as a fighter. He had his shot on the big stage and blew it. If he fought like a man win or lose people would want to see him again. Instead he talked so much BS and ran all night and just left a bad impression. Nobody wants to see that fight again. You couldn't pay me to watch Lara fight again. Canelo has so many options for bigger money fights that fans actually want to see.

There should have been because the fight was so close but I don't think its all that enticing now.

I had Lara winning 7-5 but it could have went either way.

No he didn't, just stop. What is your definition of "ass beating"? A close fight between Alvarez-Lara and somehow Lara beat his ass and embarrassed him, some people. Lara had his opportunity to show what he was made of and he stunk up the place. Now Lara is fighting Delvin Rodriguez on Spike TV. Yeah.

Why would he? Lara came in as the underdog, ran for 12 rounds and then cried that the judges didn't give him the decision.
Lara needs to work his way back up.

This. Seriously, anyone who thinks Lara 'beat his ass' or think Canelo is afraid of fighting Lara again is buggin.

Lara is a joke. Once Canelo started going to the body he began to run like a coward. He got his eye busted up and embarrassed himself. Canelo's got more important fights ahead of him, while Lara is struggling to stay relevant fighting Delvin Rodriguez.

Canelo has proven time and time again that he doesn't give a damn what his promoter says he fights who he wants to fight.
Oscar didn't want the Trout fight. He didn't want the Lara fight. Didn't want the Kirkland fight. He may not want the GGG fight but if Nelo wants it he'll get it

Hm, come to think of it I vaguely recall ODLH being unhappy about trout. I suppose you're right. I'd be game af for Canelo vs GGG, especially if he beats Cotto first.
