Give the guy some credit, jeez.
Not to me Lara wasn't he was always overrated in his boxing, but he is still good he just fights 1 way.

OK Trout beat Cotto what else has he done? Lose competitively to Canelo? Doesn't do anything for me, but he is a decent enough boxer. Angulo and Kirkland were never that good.

Canelo got eviscerated by the best "154 pounder" from that time period, when they did fight. That is also the rematch we would currently be talking about.

This thread is not about Canelo being good, this thread is about a specific question and I don't see where you are showing anyone that he really improved. If he smashed Lara maybe there would be a point, or if he smashed Trout but even then those guys are nowhere close to Floyd.

I'm a fan of Canelo. I had him beating Lara and Trout in close fights. He's showed a willingness to fight top fighters in his weight class and that's commendable.

However, there are things that Mayweather does that Canelo probably still can't handle. Plus, Canelo still can't cut the ring off effectively. That would be his undoing. Mayweather would still control the fight with his jab and superior counter ability.

I think Floyd vs. Canelo II would be different for two reasons:

          1) The catch-weight of 152 pounds probably affected his performance.
          2) I doubt he could do any worse.

So far, Canelo has looked special against brawlers (Angulo, Kirkland) and ordinary against boxers (Trout, Lara). If Canelo was the B-side, he may have lost against Trout and Lara.

If this is the fight we want let's demand it, get it on ppv and charge us $100 for it. Let's flood everybody's inbox demanding this rematch since this is what we all want to see. Let's turn this into a $300 million fight and hype it up as the fight of the millennium between Floyd and a rejuvenated Canelo that just KO'd James Kirkland.

This is what the fans want to see

No, he just doesn't have the feet to ever beat Floyd. He is great with stationary targets, but anyone that moves gives him lots of trouble. He also still covers up and waits to much when people are pitty patting at him, instead of countering.
