I agree with Oscar. At this point GGG brings nothing to the table. Outside of a world title he is coming to the negotiating table empty handed because he has nothing to bargain with. He has no fan base and is not as marketable as Cotto or Canelo.

Furthermore, there has to be a demand for this fight in order for it to do good numbers. Also, let's ask ourselves who would actually purchase tickets and PPVs to see this event outside of the boxing fan; Because at the moment, Golovkin is an unknown commodity among the casual fan?

Kirkland dropped over 50 LBS for last night's fight. If that is not being drained, I do not know what is. Canelo fights at a ring weight around 170 or more and has no business anywhere near JrMW weights. The guy should be fighting at MW at the very least.

Hearing Oscar say this worries me as a GGG fan. I knew Canelo/Cotto would happen before either of them fought GGG but it sounds like if Canelo wins he's not gonna do it for almost 2 years at least. And if Cotto wins I don't think he'd fight GGG at all honestly. So basically GGG is going to be waiting around even longer while people say he is fighting nobodies even though he can't get a big name in the ring with him. They will say move up for Ward but Ward has already said he would need a few tune-ups before he'd do that and if GGG has to move up, that just makes the weight difference between him and Canelo/Cotto even bigger.

Will somebody please grow some balls and fight GGG soon, not "a few fights from now".

I would like to see GGG move up after a year or two but this is his weight. He doesn't ever struggle with making weight so if there's nothing immediate at super middle then stay where you're at. It's guys like Garcia, Canelo, etc that should be moving up but they won't because they'll most likely be inferior at the next level where they SHOULD be fighting at.
