Furthermore, there has to be a demand for this fight in order for it to do good numbers. Also, let's ask ourselves who would actually purchase tickets and PPVs to see this event outside of the boxing fan; Because at the moment, Golovkin is an unknown commodity among the casual fan?
This crap right here you got to be kidding me. GGG has no following??? Nobody knows who GGG is???

Canelo-GGG happens and the fight will sell out in 10 minutes. Who cares about PPV numbers, I'm not a promoter, manager and businessman. I'm a boxing fan and want to see the best fight the best.

Now HBO and Golden Boy want to stage their own "megafight". What's all that crap DLH and Lampley saying about making the best fights and not playing the marinating game.

Then why does he need an A-side fighter like Cotto, Canelo or Mayweather in order to receive a career high payday? The reason is because he is not a box office draw

He should've fought him at the heavyweight limit.

Well at least you know him and that's good enough. Spoken like a true boxing fan. There's your answer!

He's not a draw? He's one of the highest rated fighters. He's very popular and that's against guys with no name at all like Geale, Murray, Stevens, Rubio, etc. Of course he'll get a career high payday against Cotto, Canelo and Mayweather, are you ******ed?

Fans of boxing should always want the best fights, period. Not play boxing manager and worry abo

You're a disgusting creature, your kind makes me sick.

And if Cotto wins I don't think he'd fight GGG at all honestly. So basically GGG is going to be waiting around even longer while people say he is fighting nobodies even though he can't get a big name in the ring with him. They will say move up for Ward but Ward has already said he would need a few tune-ups before he'd do that and if GGG has to move up, that just makes the weight difference between him and Canelo/Cotto even bigger.

Will somebody please grow some balls and fight GGG soon, not "a few fights from now".
                I agree w/ you 100%

I would like to see GGG move up after a year or two but this is his weight. He doesn't ever struggle with making weight so if there's nothing immediate at super middle then stay where you're at. It's guys like Garcia, Canelo, etc that should be moving up but they won't because they'll most likely be inferior at the next level where they SHOULD be fighting at.

It hurts being a true boxing fan. This fight will be huge especially since both fighters have been on a tear lately.
