Just a slick way of saying "we will never fight Golovkin" why 2 yrs? GGG is willing to come down to Canelo's new weight division of 155 and fight him now! Canelo has over 40 fights and just 1 loss he is 23 and Gennady is over 30, again I ask what are they waiting for? Old age? The time is now for a huge fight, and it will have belts on the line unlike when Cotto gets stripped and he fights Canelo.

Oh interesting. There's Andy Lee and then I guess they just have to be creative. He's going to have mandatories obviously.

It sucks that we will have to hear about GGG fighting bums for another year though.

Plus he's already 33. I think they can build this up starting now. You can have GGG vs Lee the week after Canelo/Cotto so it airs after the ppv replay. Then you can have a double header with GGG/Johnson and Canelo/N'Dam or Lemieux.

That will be a nice little buildup for this fight. I'm looking forward to it. I think this can be the best ppv event entertainment wise in years. HBO better not **** this up.

Why should he? It is understandable to drop to 154 for a fight against Floyd just for the prestige of the fight and the huge payday that would come with it. But there is no huge payday or prestige fighting Canelo. He has no title and nothing to offer GGG to drop a division. Especially since Canelo doesn't even fight at 154 these days and has not for the last three fights. Canelo would have no trouble making 160 and probably weighed over 170 in the ring last night.

Canelo wants to be the new Chavez Jr., draining fighters to make them easy picking. IF he wants to fight Golovkin, it will be at 160.

I agree with Oscar. At this point GGG brings nothing to the table. Outside of a world title he is coming to the negotiating table empty handed because he has nothing to bargain with. He has no fan base and is not as marketable as Cotto or Canelo.

Furthermore, there has to be a demand for this fight in order for it to do good numbers. Also, let's ask ourselves who would actually purchase tickets and PPVs to see this event outside of the boxing fan; Because at the moment, Golovkin is an unknown commodity among the casual fan?

Name a fighter Canelo has drained.

No fan base? Are you serious? He has rapidly become one of the most "must see" fighters in the world. The guy has a huge fan base.
