But it's a dumb point because he is not arguing the validity of the lawsuit. Even going as far to saying he hasn't read it. And then blabbing about the spirit of the Ali Act but doesn't answer the real question is whether or not Haymon is acting as a de facto promoter which is in violation of the act. If he's a manager he can't also be a promoter which we all know he is. Lou knows damn well he isn't promoting these fights Haymon is. Haymon is calling the shots telling him where, when and paying him a stooge flat fee to circumvent the rules.

DiBella CLEARLY asserts that he, not Haymon, was the promoter of the PBC event he worked. In a lawsuit alleging the use of 'sham' promoters, not really sure how more clearly DiBella can refute the validity of the lawsuit. YMMV.

The rest is just Lou spouting off that Golden Boy are hypocrites because they used to work with Haymon which is 1) irrelevant to the lawsuit. 2) ignores the fact that what he is claiming went on was under Richard Schaefer's reign and is the reason for Oscar kicking him out and suing him. Schaefer's questionable relationship with Haymon is what created the beef with Oscar and Schaefer in the first place. So Oscar's response is simple when I found out that Schaefer was basically just working for Haymon I did something about it and a lawsuit and huge settlement Haymon had to pay to prove he had a case.

And DiBella is right: GBP are hypocrites for benefiting from a fee-based promotional agreement with Haymon and then criticizing others for the exact same arrangement.

Yormark contends that DiBella never believed the Barclays Center project, which has endured countless delays over the last few years, would ever get completed and was therefore not proactive in getting involved.

"Lou is irate because he is waiting for a phone call he never got," Yormark said. "He's a naysayer who never thought the Barclays Center would ever happen. Right or wrong, he stood on principle waiting for a phone call. Golden Boy saw the opportunity and seized it."

Several industry sources have questioned the role of HBO, which has a close relationship with Golden Boy. Some sources have suggested that HBO was involved with brokering the deal with the Barclays Center.

Both HBO and Yormark emphatically deny the network's involvement.

"Absolutely not," Yormark said. "I have some friends at HBO that date back a long way. But they never brokered [a deal] or interfered in it."

An HBO spokesman told SI.com that "in no way did anyone at HBO Sports suggest or recommend to Mr. Yormark what promotional company he should contact, nor did Mr. Yormark indicate that he intended to approach any promoter as a potential exclusive partner or sponsor. Yes, one of our executives had lunch with Mr. Yormark once in the past year, but the conversation was general and no recommendations or endorsements were made."

In a deal recently completed, De La Hoya bought back Anschutz Entertainment Group's approximate 20 percent stake in the Los Angeles-based company and the approximate 12 percent of the company held by Gabriel Brener, a private investor and chairman and CEO of Brener International Group. AEG's involvement in Golden Boy was largely due to the close relationship between Beckerman, a boxing fan, and former Golden Boy chief executive Richard Schaefer, who resigned on June 2 after a falling out with De La Hoya. They are embroiled in a $50 million arbitration case De La Hoya brought against Schaefer, accusing him of, among other things, breach of fiduciary duty to the company.
