I will also be keep track of the clinches/bending below the waist and other fouls i find but that is for another thread.
The fight is over and the decision has been rendered,

    ..... love the enthusiasm though.

Compubox is but a human process of personal observation and rational.

    • Floyd won this fight, but it was not a dominant performance. I can definitely see why Pac thought he won the fight because we are talking about 2 or 3 rounds where Floyd won because he landed a couple more punches.

If you're Pac in there and constantly chasing Floyd around while es ting a few punches here and there that don't even hurt then you're probably thinking no way yhe refs are giving him the close rounds.

Defensively this was a beautiful fight. I just don't think Floyd let his hands go enough to say he killed Pac. 117-111 is how I had it. To me he won 11 rounds agains Canelo. That was a better performance.

The 9th round really was a toss up if i had to lean i would probably give it to pac for simply landing the harder punches. An even round is also fine and giving it to floyd isn't wrong at all. So my card would be either 7-5 pac, 6-5-1 even pac or a draw 6-6.

my reasoning: round 3 a lot of people seem to give to floyd but I can't see why. pac outlanded him in total punches, power punches, and had the best punch of the round. round 6 floyd actually outlanded pac 15-14 but most of floyd's punches were jabs while all of pacs were power to the head and body and he also had floyd wobbled. A clear example of a round where quality over quantity trumps. Round 8 was also an example of quality over quantity as floyd outlanded pac 11-9 but pac stunned him with 3 great flush punches. floyd's power punches lacked any authority or flushness in this round and pac landed the 3 best punches of the round that slightly troubled floyd so I think he deserves this round.

not bad for a one armed fighter

          • Compubox does the best job they can. Is it perfect? No, far from it. But no one has figured out a better method yet. If someone has a better way to do it, I'm sure if you would let Compubox know they might be interested in doing business with you.

Maybe someone could set up cameras to cover every inch and angle of the ring, all sides and from the top down and record the fight in detail. And it all has to be totally unobtrusive to the live fans and television audience. Then create a computer program to analyse every punch thrown and be able to discern the difference between a landed and a missed or blocked punch. Then to make it perfect, you can add in the punch force technology being used by BKB and use that to differentiate between jabs and power punches.

All it would take is a ton of money to design and buy the required gear and the permission to install it for a fight and someone to do all the programming and testing. And you better hope that it gives better results than the existing human punch counters do.

Could make for a great crowd funding project!

Of course compubox won't be perfect live. That's why fights aren't scored by compubox

floyd is 38 and over the hill and felt he didnt have to take it another gear to win an easy decision, this is why his performance wasnt that good... he definately felt pac mans power tho, he took away all of pacs strengths and made pac man think, pac is not a thinking fighter hes better when attacking! his offense is his defense and his not opening up as he usually does is why this fight was dull im sure the marquez KO attributed to this but floyds counters got pacs attention early and made him hesitate for the remainder of the fight
