The loss to Mayweather screwed him then he got back on track a bit when he destroyed Maligaggi then the loss to Pac-man finished him. IMO he didn't look right vs pac you could tell something was up. Prime Hatton vs Pacman at 140lbs is a very interesting fight.
The reason Hatton's underrated is because he fought and lost to Mayweather. Otherwise, Hatton would be respected more.

Malignaggi was perfect for Hatton he couldn't expose Hatton's diminished punch resistance, which he had shown against Lazcano.

Shame since then he's been more tentative.

Would have gone out on his shield vs Floyd if it wasn't for Jmm4
Going out on your shield is about continuing to try and win when you know you the other guy is ahead.

Manny didn't go out on his shield against JMM, he got KTFO. He went out on his shield against Morales 1. He was down, needed a KO to win, and kept pressing.

In this fight, he ****ing ate one straight right and went into survival mode. He never tried to win. Not because JMM KHTFO, but because he realized very early that Floyd does things that he'd never seen before.

Manny's performance was disgraceful and shameful. Cowardly.

He did go out on his shell from the opening bell in Marquez 4. Fighting a very risky game plan from the opening bell.

He saw the only way of beating him without controversy by knocking him out, from the opening bell he was attacking like a bad man and paid dearly.

He would have probably implemented a similar game plan if that KO didn't happen.

Hatton should've left the ring in the 6th round when he showed his arse to Cortez for deducting a point for nothing.

Pacquiao's last two rounds were disappointing, especially the 11th, not so much the 12th as Floyd was on his bicycle.

Not sure why he didn't go harder in those rounds, he said he thought he had already won the fight so didn't go hard but that's dubious, I think he might've been tired.

The reason I thought Pacquiao would trouble Floyd so much is because we saw Hatton use his feet to cut the ring from Floyd and have some success in doing so. Hatton was losing by the time the knockout came anyway, but he did do better than Manny did.

Aside from the 4th round, you'd be hard pressed to find much success that Manny had.

The fight was over after the first right hand I agree and he didn't go out on his shield in this fight. Going out on your shield doesn't mean you have to get knockdown first, it means just trying to knock a guy the **** out at all cost and Manny did just that against JMM.

Be happy Floyd won, I knew he would but there is no need to take anything away from Manny in the process. I mean, people can bring up he beat a Manny he avoided for 7 years. Let's just not even go there, Manny is a warrior regardless of how he performed in this fight.

I agree somewhat. Hatton was dead even with Floyd as far as I'm concerned through 6-7 rounds and was taken out of the fight altogether by the ref. That was the absolute worst ref job i've ever witnessed. The ref job Bayless did saturday was a joke too. Floyd should have been at least docked one point.

By default though, Hatton could not have technically done better than Pacquiao since he got knocked out.
