"All Im saying is the people I trained with kick goddamn hard. They had skill. "

i gotcha. anyone trained enough to kick most likely will kick hard.

rwk - yes, lower kicks definitely are designed to disable an opponents movement. it's not unusual to hear people who end up getting crippled from just one kick.

Most people have no concept of how to throw one, or what it feels like to get struck by one effectively.

The hardest part of the tree is the base of the trunk, when damaged....the entire tree collapses.

Ernesto Hoost....who is my favorite kickboxer ever had legs made of steel. Opponents disabled themselves why trying to lower leg kick him. Guys like Remi Bojansky are not exceptions either....they have cyborg legs.

That in my best estimation is one of the most effective strikes in all of fighting in general.

That was frustrating to watch. I have never heard of Arthur Williams but from checking his record I could see that he was by no means an elite boxer. I'd like to see how well that kickboxer would fare against even a Shannon Briggs level guy.

Ray Mercer tried to fight in K1, but was beaten badly, I think. Botha also tried and he did OK but not great.

              yeah Mercer fought Remi Bojansky.

He took 1 kick in the side of the head....turned around and quit.

That was the wrong opponent for him to face....LOL.

very true gattz, kickboxers have a much greater arsenal. i've seen one in person fight off nearly a dozen people. no ****. and kick ass at that.

rwk, yup, there is a technique to it. it isn't just your random streetfight type kicking. there is a reason that bruce lee(just mentioning him because most people know who he is) loved low kicks to prevent a forthcoming attack - they work!

do you have MA experience as well?

The only type of training I ever do Is MMA related.

I run, work the bag, lift weights, and spar 2 or 3 times a week with buddies using 3oz gloves.

We practice submissions etc....and we don't necessarily spar. We fight....full contact no holds barred.

....That kind of made me feel bad for the boxer. He was out of his element and that guy was out of his league when it came to available weapons.
