I'm no lawyer, so I will let the courts decide, but if I'm haymon, that's the question I would be asking of the court.
Right now he runs the PBC and is also the manager/advisor to the fighters. So to get his fighters a better deal, he should be negotiating their fights with PBC. But that would mean negotiating with himself and he has an obligation to his investors to make as much profit as possible. He cannot possibly fulfill that obligation while also having an obligation to the fighters to get them as much money as possible. He plays both ends against the middle. This is totally unethical and a complete conflict of interest.
Haymon can either represent the fighters or he can represent the PBC investors. The commissioner of baseball cannot also be in charge of the players' union. The owner of the New York Yankees cannot also be the manager of the star players on his team.
I do not understand how no one here sees this as a potential problem. Is everyone blind or just ******?

If the UFC isn't a monopoly, PBC sure as hell ain't.

Haymon now has a business model where the fighters get the best treatment but because Haymon happens to be of a certain demographic, people aren't too fond of it.

If any line was drawn it was when Haymon drew the line when he thieved around 75% of De La Hoya's fighters and attempted to take over his company.
Would you want to play ball after that? I know I wouldn't.
A Haymon monopoly would be a disaster for the simple that he's demonstrated for the past 10 years, he doesn't put on the fights the consumer wants to see. PBC itself has been a damp squib so far.

DLH was a figurehead who spent his time sniffing lines and asking hookers to bend him over like a slinky. While he was sleeping, others were working. To top it off, he's still rich as hell anyway. Count me out of the pity party.
As it stands, I cannot really be bothered to follow the case closely. What's the bottom line for me is whether the good fights gets made or not. I do have sympathy for Oscar him being a former fighter though.

I feel at some point along the way, if this keeps having some success, someone will jump on this idea too & present Haymon with some Bellator type challenge to the UFC to even prolong things out further.
There is a lot of money to be made in having a UFC setup where you could have Klitschko vs Fury in May, Santa Cruz vs Rigondeaux in June, Mayweather vs Thurman in July & GGG vs Miguel in August all year around. Big fights every month.
I think one of the hurdles is bringing in new fans. The old fans seem to be invested in the corruption of the 4 title groups far too much & actually seem more against Haymon trying to bring a one champion landscape to boxing then the insanity of having 4 world champions.
At this stage, Haymon has financial backup for 2015 and 2016... Therefore 8-10 years is a distant target under the present business environment...
One can't expect that Haymon's competition and the "sanctioning bodies" to sit back and quietly wait to be whipped out from the scene...
