Just sayin'
Comparing fighters from different times is like comparing apples to oranges people. While they are both fruit, its just not the same; you just can't compare both of them. There are way too many variables: sports science, weight, styles, etc., getting into this type of argument goes nowhere.
With that said Floyd is not some boogeyman, while I give the man total credit for what he has done for himself and I respect his ability, and it is quite the ability, he is not unbeatable.

Floyd may not be "TBE," or better than Ali, but he doesn't (and has NEVER) get hit as much as Ali, AND he's undefeated. Go see who Ali was fighting at age 38/39. Where was Ali at in his career at age 35, 36, 37, 38, etc? Watch the documentary about Ali vs. Holmes. Then look at Ali's finances when he was 35, 36, 37, 38, etc. Floyd can't read, but he can think, speak, fight, and count, which is SADLY, more than I can say for Ali.Comment

So, back when Bob Arum had " his promoter's hat on " he should not have been taken seriously..... but now that Bob Arum is not representing Mayweather, everything he says about Mayweather is correct?
So, everything that Arum is currently saying about Pacquiao, should not be taken seriously, right ?Comment

Going on the "undefeated" premise, Sugar Ray Robinson would be considered second rate.
Floyd's stardom was built upon hand picking opponents from an already weak gene pool competing over the past 15 years. Ali fought during a SUPERB heavyweight age and he topped Frazier, Norton and Foreman. FMJ is only as good as his checkbook and an 18- 50 casual fan demographic says he is.Comment

I will stick with the opinion that I gave earlier.....
..... and I said it before Foreman did
I pretty much agree !
I mean, I agree with you, not with Mayweather.
The point is, Pacquiao has made the exact same claim himself, so.....
Personally I think that Mayweather is a better fighter than Ali, so rate him higher P4P..... but not higher in terms of ATG, or achievments, no way.
Like I have been trying to say repeatedly..... P4P really is over-rated.
P4P (so, all things being equal, Mayweather being naturally the same size as Ali, or vice-versa) because of style/skillset, Floyd wins..... but heart/chin/reaction to adversity/etc, mostly go to Ali.
Ali had a number of mountains to climb, so he climbed them..... Mayweather may have climbed them also, but - for whatever reason - he did not.
Hard luck for Mayweather that he has not had the opportunity to fight the same level of career-defining fights that Ali did...... to everyone who says that is not Mayweathers fault, well it aint Ali's fault either.....you have to deal with whatever is put in front of you, and Ali did.
