Not trying to justify his comments or anything, but many other countries are culturally naive or stunted in the way that they don't discuss or learn about racism and treatment of cultures.

I met a girl from Spain recently and she just didn't understand why (the N word) was a bad word, what it means and where it came from. She would argue it wasn't a bad word because she saw people say it on TV all the time, her friends all said it in a jokey fashion and where she's from none of their population are black. Boxing is a racist sport from the top down and has always been that way. It's clear as day and there is no need to get worked up over it. If you ask me everybody is racist from the people in charge, to the fans to the fighters.

With black fighters the racism is less felt because black fans are largely outnumbered.
