Stats don't lie. Mayweather is not better than Ali or Sugar Ray.

Assuming Floyd beats Manny, Floyd is a top 10 ATG and anyone who would deny him that are going to be the most die hard haters. My problem with Floyd is he does'nt take big risks with his opponent selection. Manny is by far the most dangerous opponent Floyd has fought since Castillo 13 years ago. Who he has fought versus who he could of fought is always going to be a question mark on his career for me.Comment

Popularity is not a skill though! So everybody has heard by now how Mayweather feels about himself. I would expect nothing less from a fighter like him. But even so, I was bored and decided to compile stats from Boxrec, and came up with a graph based on 10 major stats that I personally feel are the most important when comparing fighters. All are not here obviously, but I took 5 of the most famous boxers who are usually brought into any pound-for-pound conversations and compared them. In the end, my list ended up like this and Mayweather is not number 1. Nobody needs to get butthurt. Just laying out the stats.
1.) Ali
2.) Joe Louis
3.) Sugar Ray Robinson
4.) Floyd Mayweather
5.) Mike Tyson
6.) Rocky Marciano
Take a look for yourself. If you can appreciate this chart, fell free to share it. Thanks

I was going to make a sarcastic comment about your post, but I decided not to even bother. This whole "who is the greatest" argument is ridiculous. The greatest fighter is whoever you want it to be. You cannot compare someone from 100 years ago or even 50 years ago to a fighter of this era. So, please stop these nonsense posts. So everybody has heard by now how Mayweather feels about himself. I appreciated the stats. I think it's important to put the stats out there--for perspective. Also, it sorta keeps fan boys in check. Floyd's great but he wouldn't even crack my top ten.
Again, thanks for the statsComment

If anything your graphs make a stronger case for him (certainly stronger than I would have guessed). I'd imagine there was another fighter on these graphs but you didn't like seeing his metrics next to the others and conveniently left him off.Comment
