Chavez fights Top-5 LHW after year layoff; Andre Ward...

fights a guy outside the top 20 at the weightclass he cleared out four years ago...

Wow... Paul Smith? Really? He's not even a top domestic fighter at his weight class?

This guy truly is a joke. A clown.

Grow some balls and call out guys at 175. Hahah can you imagine Ward ever fighting Beterbiev? I can't either... Can't even see him fighting Fonfara.

Jr did a dumb mistake in taking that fight and in his laziness and lack of respect of boxing took a fight at a higher weight. Dude was on a layoff and should had dedicated himself and taken an even opponent to himself.

The smart thing to do after a layoff is to ease into it. Ring rust is a real thing

Odds on this guy being a Golovkin fanatic?

It still shows how big of a bytch Ward is. At least Chavez had some balls (going ito the fight, anyway).

        Ward is a disgrace.

GGG is a beast, but he's not one of my favorite boxers.

Wot makes you deduce that, doe, my good geezer?

I mean, don't you think Ward should be moving up? He cleaned out 168 four years ago after beating Froch?

Chavez Jr was a case of an attempted cherry pick going wrong, it had little to do with "balls". He couldn't be arsed to make the weight and they had to pick a half decent opponent who turned out to be a little more than half decent.

I agree with the OP. People are calling Chavez Jr a "disgrace to boxing". At least he got in the ring with a legit opponent. Smith is a complete bum.

              Andre Ward is a b1tch.

Actually I agree with this, heheh.

Still, even in his attempted cherry-picks, he attempts to cherry pick much better boxers than Ward.

I don't care if he moves up or not. I only see certain people who are so adamant that he moves to 175 right away and that's why I deduced that.

He's a 168lb fighter. He didn't even really "clean out" 168 and the landscape has changed since then. There are some fights I'd like to see him in at 168 before he moves up in weight.

Do you rather see a 100% Ward lose against a top fighter or you just want to see him get beat. I rather not have excuses from fighters. Jr had balls but it did not help his career.

You got Canelo/Kirkland coming now. That ring rust more than like will hurt James. I rather see a 100% James that way there are no excuses what so ever. If Canelo beats him they are going to say he picked a guy that hasn't fought in like a year. Kirkland will complain of the ringrust
