This is nothing new for boxers. Ironically Ali made similar claims in his day and many people were just as outraged. Ali never bit his tongue when comparing himself to being greatet than past champions. From Jack Johnson to Joe Louis, Ali always said he'd have beaten every heavyweight before him and that he was the greatest of all time.

Difference is Mayweather thinks he's better than Ali NOT his fans. Pac Stans think Pacquiao is better than Ali, they came out in force to get Pacquiao ahead of Ali in a large GOAT poll a few years ago.
