he only clinched maybe 15 times in the whole fight, i think people are blowing that **** outta proportion because they aren't used to seeing lucas fight like that

man i'm hearing people say **** like he ran, like this was peterson garcia, lucas wasnt running, he was in punching range for ruslan for the whole fight

Lucas fought very smart. I knew he would box. He was also sticking his head on Ruslan's chest causing Ruslan to smother his own work too.

Me too. I hated the way danny constantly did it vs Lucas so to Lucas do it this time was lame.

Stop complaining about running, I'm glad Lucas boxed. Now I might get a few more years out of him and he wont get any severe brain damage. Engaging in a war when you don't need to is plain ******. Like Floyd says, "I want to be able to speak to my kids when I'm older"

Lol that's cool, just remember this when ever or if ever u feel like taking swipes at another fighter who plays it safe and fights smart. All I'm suggesting.

Feels like not many ppl saw it this way. I never saw him throw like he usually does, super hard, with bad intentions and conviction.

Lampley did all he could to either minimize what Lucas was doing or just ignore it and build up Provo. For example, during the 6th rd were Provo was completely beaten to a pulp instead of calling the action Lampley told a story about how tough Ruslan was & his up bringing. It took Hopkins to finally cut in and call the action and note how bad Ruslan was getting beaten up. Lampley kept telling the audience that all the damage was caused in rds 1 & 2 and Ruslan had won rds 3 and 4 for sure. He kept saying this over & over, basically saying rds 1 & 2 were the only rds that Lucas deserved. Lampley would call punches that Provo missed as landing & he would constantly just make things up about how well Ruslan was doing and how he was back in the fight. For example the 5th rd. Lucas came back and dominated Provo, but Lampley sad Provo basically won the rd based on his huge power shots he was landing. I know Lampley has a habit of overstating how well HBO***8217;s fighter is doing, but this time he really went too far. It was just too extreme the way he was lying about what was actually happening. Whole stretches of time when Lucas was pummeling Provo Lampley would not even call the action instead he would talk about how tough and how Provo was basically Arturo Gatti incarnate. It is time HBO fire him, hell Brian Kenny is now available after Showtime did not want to renew his contract because he was just too honest & he did not suck up to Haymon fighters. I also found it strange that HBO did not show punchstats, but 1 or 2 times during the fight. They always give the punchstats consistently throughout the bout. This time they did not, maybe because they were so one sided and Lampley did not want to announce anything that would go against his biased announcing.
