Boxers should be better taken care in the standard of contract they have to sign, taking advantage of dudes with messed up contracts is not cool, and that is SOP in boxing.
Plus that is not even useful in a boxing context, a happy fighter is better than an unhappy fighter pissed about his contract situation. It leads to only bad places, where guys end up locked in deals not fighting.

Boxing is extremely corrupt and I'm not just talking about the Judges who score the fights, a lot of these Promoters and Managers are very Dirty
It is likely that who ever Rigondeaux is planning to sign with in September, they probably found a loop hole in the contract in which they will be able to sign Rigondeaux and just pay what ever Hyde is owed on that contractLast edited by sicko; 04-19-2015, 04:45 PM.

The 1.8mil offer from Roc Nation is a disgrace and Rigo was smart not to sign.

Usually every thing gets resolved by another Promoter or Manager coming in a just buying out the remainder of the contract

That maybe True if Rigo never gets out of his current predictament, if he does and signs with Al Haymon, Rigo will receive 1.8mil in just 1 fight.........gotta see the long term my friend.
Gary Hyde is most importantly looking out for Gary Hyde, the same as Kathy Duva and Main Events are doing with Kovalev.

This reads like some bad marriage situation. Guy just wants out. Wife is talking about how things are gonna get better if you just listen to me & won't sign the divorce papers. The bridge has been burned. Let it go & let everyone get on with their future.
There really should be some better safeguards in place to protect boxers from getting screwed over. To make money in boxing you gotta be world class in the ring & at least pretty solid at the business aspect of boxing. Most boxers seem to come from not the greatest areas education-wise & then they are expected to deal with these scummy Better Call Saul mfers in the business part of their boxing careers.
Its kinda like putting a bunch of tigers on the school playground & then blaming the kids for getting eaten. Boxers need a better advocate then the Muhammad Ali Act & local laws it would seem or some people who've been proven to be corrupt in the business shouldn't be allowed to work in the business. Idk but something needs to change cuz too many talented boxers are losing years of their already short primes over dumb *****.
