Business is one thing, holding on to a guy that doesn't want to be with you anymore is bull****. He is a Boxer, not Hyde ***ing SLAVE!

I would never support a promoter that keeps fighters against that fighters own will that is a form of Modern Day Slavery.

And Rigondeaux owes him NOTHING, it is not like Hyde wasn't getting his CUT, in fact he probably has made more off of Rigondeaux than Rigondeaux has made off of his work in the ring.

Fighters should have the right to opt of contracts if they're no longer happy with a Promoter or Manager

Rigos bigger plans are Caribe telling him about headlining in Miami in front of a trillion fans and making billions of dollars.
        This right here.

Caribe is totally to blame for why Rigo's career hasn't advanced. I feel like they've brainwashed him and have given him these false ideas of headlining cards in Miami in front of 100,000 people.

I agree lol. That's probably true also, either way Gary Hyde in his managers role is what is keeping Rigo from signing with Al Haymon.

The 1.8mil offer from Roc Nation is a disgrace and Rigo was smart not to sign.

Same with Andre Ward and Mikey Garcia. If you sign a contract you have to fulfill your end of it.

If his contract indeed expires in September why not fight again to avoid a legal battle that will sideline you until 2017.

Suggest most of the posters read the article more closely.
You probably read it and your still just as ignorant as before you read the article. Gary Hyde is #1 reason why Rigo's career is in the toilet, then Caribe would be the 2nd problem.

You see Caribe aint gonna get 20% from Al Haymon and most importantly they don't manage Rigo and therefore CANNOT STOP RIGO FROM SIGNING with a powerful "advisor/manager" like Al Haymon. But Gary Hyde can and has.

You see Caribe has no $$, can't promote any fights for Rigo, Gary cant get Rigo the big fights, its a combination of them both, but looking at the current landscape in boxing with promotors and how things are shifting from PPv/Cable to free Televison....

Only the big players can secure TV dates, Al haymon is #1 in the Dept, so it makes little sense for Rigo to sign with a PROMOTOR(Roc Nation as an example) who doesn't have access to the Newtworks on free TV like Al Haymon has, so even though Caribe is a rotten stench around Rigo's neck, Gary Hyde in a manager's role is an anchor that is sinking Rigo's Career.

Gary Hyde is acting in a su****ious way imo because extending the contract or not accepting a buyout doesn't help Gary's situation either financially.

So the purpose of his stance is what?, either this business is about the $$$$ or its not, and the last time I checked that is what the MAIN GOAL was.

Gary Hyde is an damn Demon, period end of story.

              Boom. :ANYWORD:

I was about to write the same thing. I think by then Rigondeaux will be too old to be considered a threat to anyone at any weight division.

Yet you see guys come along and show up to every possible event they can attend to be in front of the cameras. Crawford is a prime example of this..you see Crawford at most big fights, you see Lomancheko at plenty of fights, you see all these guys hungry for the spotlight..Hell you seen all of Haymon's stars at the peterson fight this past week. Rigo is a once in a lifetime type of fighter but he's a in a fk up situation where the people who handle him don't have enough pull to trigger things for him and he refuses to help his case by being pro-active. Haymon might make things easier for him but the general public needs to see you, the general public needs to hear you in interviews regularly. You can't expect the whole world to come to Florida for you bruh. The top two fighters in the world do the rounds from time to time between fights too, and these are guys that don't actually have to but they do because it's part of the business. If people aren't seeing you they aren't thinking of you, that's why its called P.R.
I have said for a while that Rigondeaux is one of the dumbest boxers in the world. I am glad someone else can see this. Five years from now, Rigondeaux will be out of boxing, broke and homeless. He will be scratching his head wondering what happened.

Yep and all these silly ignorant casuals fell for it hook line and sinker. I seen right through Gary Hyde's bs, I knew he was the greater of the 2 evils between him and Caribe.
