Yea, but that's in America/Western Europe....he's from Russia which really has no history (negative or positive) with people of African descent. There was no such thing as African colonialism in Eastern Europe that was all done by Western Europeans....So maybe he didn't think it was so serious or just thought it was a harmless joke....Blacks are also basically non-existent in Eastern Europe so things like "Black Face" and whatnot have no meaning.

I never thought of him as a good guy so I don't disagree with you...Just that there is no such thing as "Black face" or equivalent in Eastern Europe (Blacks barely even exist in Eastern European countries)...The racist dehumanization of Blacks being "Monkeys" comes from Western Europeans during the colonial period...So he may have just thought it was a harmless joke....but yea after living in America for awhile you think he would have gotten the message....
