Hagler's mad that he never got that BIG MONEY rematch with Sugar Ray Leonard. He see's Mayweather as the second coming of Ray Leonard.

Yeah, it makes one wonder about the motivations ....

I would guess that many former greats diminish current greats accomplishment for reasons that aren't totally genuine.

1. Former boxers only dreamed about making the money that current boxers make. This may lead to some resentment, since many of the older guys went through a lot more to make a living.

2. Older greats may resent seeing a current champ receiving the accolades that they never received -- And may feel a need to openly state that the newer guys have many flaws.

3. The thought of a diminishing legacy may not be appealing to the older boxers, who may have thought their footprint would last indefinitely.

4. Since many older boxers are broke, they may resent seeing the next generation of boxers making a serious run at extending both their financial status and their diversity into other areas based on what they accomplished in boxing. (i.e. Promoters)

That stated, I would seriously question the motivations of anyone making the statements issued by Hagler.

Did anyone read the article? Hagler was giving his opinion on the fight. He also said Floyd would probably win. He said he could put us to sleep if he chooses, it depends on how he wants to fight. People just read the headline, which is misleading and comment. Hagler is an ATG and voiced his opinion. People, mainly Floyd fans are upset about something he didn't even say. Relax.

Because he believes boxers should fight the tough challenges when they come along instead of making excuses

The negative comments being made towards Floyd by former black boxer are the same attitude all brainwashed blacks tend to say towards other successful brother's. Its not just Floyd who has big bank, Jay-Z, Denzel, Eddie Murphy this list goes on. But because Floyd has taken on a role of villain and made it work for him Hagler and other former black boxer's want him to act the way the white man told them how to act. These guys don't have inside knowledge of what Floyd has given back and they shouldn't know since that's that man's business. I hate it when people expect because you have money you owe the world something. I never hear these guy's get on rich white folks about giving back. I feel like this, if a person has made a billion dollars by doing what he wants to do he doesn't owe anyone jack sh't. As long as that person has done right in his mind he/she shouldn't be expected to give back to anyone. It's so sad how everybody and their momma has an opinion on what someone else should be doing. Handle your own business the best you can and stop worrying about the next person. Floyd IMO don't owe me anything, I purchase his fights because I can afford them and appreciate the way he fights, same way I did when Hagler was fighting. To judge Floyd because he takes pictures with his money, car's or whatever is a sign of jealousy. I thought Hagler and the other guy's criticizing Floyd were bigger mentally than that, but I see they can't get that slave mentality out of their heads. Not about money, it about the character of the man, and the harm he has done to boxing.

We get it you don't like him, yet every other day some loser ex gym teacher that starts his four fight mma career has something to say about a guy that has accomplished more than they ever will.

Floyd should go to the U.K. where they actually respect his craft for what it is. Leave the U.S. alone because it's nothing but hate here. Your at the top and the hate comes flooding in from people that are supposedly better than you.
