    Here we go again.

For the millionth time. Cotto WAS NOT going to fight Canelo on cinco de mayo weekend with floyd fighting on that same weekend. Its called common sense. And ya canelo fans should be mad at canelol for ducking joshua clottey.

Instead he let that circus go on. from the time Canelo beat Lara till what Feb 2015 everyone was trying to make this fight. Him and his manager kept releasing public statements we are trying to fight Canelo we are negotiating which was a flat out lie. We find out after Top Rank, Golden Boy, HBO had worked out all the points that Cotto and his team cut off negotiations with them some time around Dec 2014. Yet his manager putting out fake statements about negotiating this fight but both Golden Boy and Top rank say Cotto wasn't responding to their calls. We find out months later what Cotto was really doing was working on a deal with Roc Nation. If Cotto had been up front he would of saved himself all the backlash he has received. Instead he hasn't fought in a full year and looks like he ducked GGG and Canelo.
So you are mad at cotto for not negotiating through the media? Good god wtf is wrong with ya

I guess you never heard of a non title fight?

HBO is probably putting something in a contract to state that Cotto has to fight Canelo next if he wins. That's the reason why they initially refused to air Cotto's next fight because they wanted assurance that he would fight Canelo. GGG is not in the equation. Even if he wins his next fight and wins against Canelo I don't see him ever fighting GGG.
Can you quote Cotto on that or are you gonna keep that quote twisted so it can fit your point of view?

No I'm mad at Cotto telling his promoter and the fans that he wanted to fight Canelo and then when everything is set in place he backs out and starts negotiating a deal with Roc Nation and has his puppet Manager release false statements about making the Canelo fight which we now know was a lie. He cut off communications with everyone and basically killed the Canelo fight. There is negotiating with the media and flat out lying to everyone including the fans which is what Cotto did

How did he "cut off" communications when they said he was getting back to them on tuesday? Oh thats right imaginary deadlines set by canelo. You really think that Cotto-Canelo were gonna fight cinco de mayo weekend?

That was the 4th time Cotto's team told Golden Boy we will get back to you. Everything was ironed out in Dec 2014 and it was pushing Feb 2015 with the same BS I'll get back to you. He and his team was stalling. And Top Rank said Cotto flat out wasn't returning their calls. I see no reason why either Top Rank or Golden Boy would lie about it. And it makes sense when right after it falls apart we found out that he is signing to Roc Nation which makes sense why his team couldn't give a answer to golden boy and kept pushing back the deadline or why he wasn't returning calls to Top Rank. The liar in all this was Cotto. It's impossible to be trying to finalize a deal for the Canelo fight with your promoter Top Rank when you are negotiating a deal with a new promoter at the same time.

Oscar just told me no Cotto-Canelo. The deal is off the table. Said Cotto went past 5th deadline last night. - Dan Rafael reported this

They kept extending the deadline for Cotto and he wouldn't give them an answer. You are a fool if you think they waited till tuesday and gave Cotto a 6th deadline the fight would of been made. He was working on the Roc Nation deal

As Miguel Cotto reunited with Top Rank before his bout versus Delvin Rodriguez in October of 2013, he had pledged his loyalty to Todd duBoef( the president of Top Rank) with whom he had enjoyed a close, personal relationship with. Top Rank had promoted the Puerto Rican to stardom after signing him out of the 2000 Olympics. After a winless 2012 where he faced Floyd Mayweather and Austin Trout outside the Top Rank banner, he returned to them and notched victories over Rodriguez and then became the middleweight champion of the world with a knockout of Sergio Martinez last June. It was expected that a bout with Mexican star, Saul Alvarez would be next this spring.

Now there are reports coming out that Cotto will be signing a promotional pact with Roc Nation Sports on Thursday. Yes, where there is smoke there is fire.

When reached at his office in Las Vegas, Todd duBoef told Boxingscene.com - "I'm disappointed in their conduct across the board. People can make business decisions and I may not agree with it, but I'll tell you what, when you talk about a relationship - conduct is everything."

As Cotto and his reps turned down a fight with Alvarez (which would've paid him in the neighborhood of $10.5 million) for a period of time there was suddenly radio silence on their end as phone calls and emails from duBoef - who wanted to map out their next move - went unreturned.

''You don't act that way if you know how to handle relationships and it's in your DNA to be professional,"said duBoef.

Why when someone says GGG you come running? Give it a break bro, GGG wants big money and PPV opponents if Cotto or Canelo have the belt he gets that, thats why he would take money to let the fight happen.
