But imagine if Mayweather vs Corrales or Pacquiao vs Morales couldn't happen because of promoter and network crap. Come on man.
If Kovalev vs Stevenson happened the result would be the first 4 belt unified champion ever, so it's actually a more important and significant fight than the 2 you mentioned there.

This a quote from Yvon Michel's response to Duva's counter offer.

"we are willing to accept your offer of co-promoting the fight together with a 50-50 split and avoid going to purse bid. However, one major point is we have to be able to maximise revenues in all departments including television. We cannot blindly agree to a deal. We need to know how much HBO is willing to invest in a licencing fee, in comparison to what we can expect on our side, in order to chose the best offer."

Can anyone see a reason why Duva can't give him the information he is asking for there?

If she can, and the figure is high enough, along with possible ppv revenue, then maybe the fight could go ahead on HBO after all.

HBO is never going to outbid GYM/Haymon because Herschman is operating on a smaller budget like he did when he ran SHowtime. HBO wants to pay as little as possible for this fight. Haymon wants to take it off HBO and will bid very high to do so.

kathy duva is a fvkin *****
she extended kovs contract with hbo AFTER the pascal fight for some reason. she pulled out of the purse bid which was the fairest way to negotiate. there is no defending her action and kovalev has to take blame too, he is the one signing contracts

Kov isn't privy to this shyt. Main Events signed him to HBO again so they can lock him in, not the best move but she knew what she was doing - Haymon has these promoters shook! Educated these cats and now they are doing better business in general - remember this is Yvon speaking, not Haymon - this is why Haymon is so dangerous be a use he educates his partners so they can get a deal rolling before he comes in a seals it - it's like Haymon gave Yvon the template and said now that you know the game , reply to this heifer for what it really is... why would Main Events who has been publicly. All in out Stevenson cancel the purse bid and his WBC ranking? Remember promoterz are supposed to do what's best for their client!

Hopkins unified all 4 belts vs. DLH. Then Taylor won all 4 belts from him.

2 fighters have already held all 4 belts.

I see an opening here so that the fight might happen after all. Main events and GYM should just meet up with an envelope each both containing the respective offers from their broadcaster of choice and then go with the best. That would make sense. No single promotor. Seems fair.

Yeah, I forgot about BHop at MW. This would be the first 4 belt unification since then though, so still a very important fight.

If you take Michel's question at face value, the amount HBO would pay for the TV rights would be added to whatever other benifits would come from a GYM/Main Events co-promotion. So they wouldn't necessarily need to outbid anybody to be able to screen it.

If Michel's question is genuine, rather than just a PR exercise, then he and Haymon must be open to the idea of the fight being screened on HBO. So yeah, there is a glimmer of hope there.

man why does duva don't go in purse bid? even if she lose it will be Haymon money. If PBC ipay more why don,t she want her fight to be there? If i was Kovalev i'd leave main events. Because i Know HBO wont pay as much as Haymon. he overpaid Stevenson vs BIKA. Same will happen for Kov and stevenson fight.
